I have heard that you can bring your kids to the Oceaneer's Club at night with their pj's on and they will turn down the lights and let them fall asleep to a movie. Is that true? My DD's are 4 & 5 and I'm wondering if this is a good option on nights when my DH and I want to stay out a little later. Also - they will be in different age groups during the day - but could they be together for the late night movie?

Pretty much every evening around 10:00 they would put out mats, turn down the lights, and show movies. I am sure the kids would be welcome in their pj's. My dd was in the 3-4 group, but I think the older kids were there, too (5-7). Not positive though, sorry.

We just got back, and they did show movies every night. There were a few kids in there in their PJ's. About 10 or 10:30 everynight they would show 2 movies, and put out mats, each child laid on their own mat. If your children are small enough to carry back to your room that would probably work great. Unfortunately my 7 year old weighs 55 pounds and was too big to carry back to our room so we retuned to pick them up by 10:30 or 11 each night.

Thanks for the info! I was also wondering if I would feel totally comfortable leaving the girls in the Oceaneer's Club while my DH and I went ashore for an excursion. I'm hoping to do some snorkling and the girls are too young to go with us - so is it OK to leave them?

As long as your girls are comfortable in the Club then you will have no problems leaving them to do your shore excursion. :)

If you're snorkeling on Castaway Cay, the kids will be in Scuttle's Cove--the entire Oceaneer's program moves ashore, so it's easy to get the kiddos in and out of the programming. This worked great for us--we were able to snorkel and spend some time on the adult beach, but it was easy to get DD5 out to go play on the family beach.

That said, we left our her in the Oceaneer's Club while we went into Nassau, albeit briefly (1-2 hours), and we were fine with that. I'm not as sure about going on a longer planned excursion, since the pagers probably won't work over that distance, and DD was pager-happy (they let the kids page you anytime, for any reason, pretty much). By the time you get to where you'd want to leave them on for a while, you'll probably have an idea of how your own kiddos will react.

Have fun!!
