I am looking for a cheap, decent hotel in or around OC NJ. My mom is doing a bike ride there in October and I would like to have DD waiting at the finish line.

We go every year and have stayed at the Impala Island Inn many times (check out their website for rates/pics). Do a search on this board. It was just discussed a couple of weeks ago. I believe the original poster of that thread ended up staying at the Forum Motor Inn. WE love going there.
