Another vote for RB here! I have been vacationing there for most of my 45 years. Even though I now live about two hours from Cape Cod, we still make the trek to RB every year. My kids (and I) prefer the beach there. The rides are at Funland on the Boardwalk and even though my kids are now 9 and 11, they still found plenty to ride there. I give them a budget for each night at the Boardwalk and they have become very good at sharing treats. I also have a Thrasher's refillable cup -- used to be free refills, now 75cents but still very reasonable. The homes are priced out of sight in RB (the house my granddad built 65 years ago is listed at over $1 million). There are quite a few decent motels on Route One -- we have been camping off Route One but since the campground has just been sold to make way for McMansions, we are now looking for some where to stay next year. Ideas welcome!!

I third the suggestion for Rehoboth! We used to always do OC MD until we had kids! Then we found out about RB and I really think there is so much more to offer the kids there -- at a much better price too! The Funland arcade that someone mentioned before is great. The rides and games are very inexpensive and the kids get some really cute prizes, not all the junky stuff you would expect.

We love it there and I highly doubt we'll go back to OC any time soon.

We were in Ocean City two years ago for a one-night stay. Would love to go back.

Tip: We took the Cape Lewes ferry to Cape May, NJ to get home to New England. You skip the Baltimore tunnel and don't have to drive for the 1.5 hour trip across! And...the ferry has a play area for kids. It was really nice and the drive up the jersey shore is an added bonus, so beautiful.

Also at the Rehoboth playland, they have chance games where you can win at least a small prize (beanie bear) everytime you play it. It saves alot of tears and $20 worth of trying to win a stuffed animal.

We also have stayed at the Sea Watch (going again this year). It's a great place.

Cottage Cafe is a nice family restaurant. If you want a change from seafood, they are located in Bethany near the Sea Colony resort.
