Ocala Welcome Center?

We haven't been to WDW since '02, and have always LOVED stopping at the Ocala Welcome Center on the way there and especially on the way back. Is it still there?

Alas, it is not. Disney closed it in 2005 due to people being able to do the same things at the center online, etc. I missed not going there on our trip last week.

Thanks for the update. The Welcome Center was always our favorite place to stop on the way back to get one last "Disney fix" before going home for good.

Since my family and I drive down Interstate 75 every summer when going to WDW, we would always stop at the Ocala Welcome Center which was a tradition that we always did. Last August my family and I stopped in Ocala for Gas and it did not seem the same without going to the Welcome Center.

We, too, are so sad that the center is closed. I feel like we lost such a

welcome down the interstate, knowing the real Disney was only a little

further down the road.

You can do a search on this topic. There was jsut recently a thread that had the info and an article about it closing.

Live in Ocala... and they closed it down. Its been closed for a couple of years already ... a few actually. Is now a construction company office. Is sad since that is where I would get a quick fix since we dont have a disney store either. =-(

There is a AAA office off SR200 at the same exit.. just other direction (in case anyone needs to know that)
