Ocala Visitor's Center question

Does the Ocala Visitor's Center still arrange hotel rooms like they used to? I haven't seen anyone post about this in a couple of years, but one used to be able to book a moderate or deluxe Disney hotel at the Visitor's center on their way down at a discount or upgrade to a higher level hotel there at a discount.

We are driving down to WDW for MNSSHP 10/20 and will be stopping at my mom's near Ocala and could easily stop at the Visitor's Center if they are. We have a ressie at the All Star's for this trip and AKL at Christmas, but it looks like we will have to cancel the Christmas trip so I thought we might upgrade to the Contemporary for convenience since we are only doing Epcot and MK and could use the monorail for both instead of being so far and having to use a most likely crowded bus from a remote hotel.

I thought that closed a while back.

We stopped by in June and they were able to check our existing reservation.

While I was at the desk, a supervisor-type lady came out of the back and told one of the ladies at the counter that they could give these people a price on a room and let them know of availability. The people could then call to make their reservation (they would let them use the phone there).

I don't think they give out special rates on rooms there anymore because these people seemed unhappy with the prices they were given.

You might want to call. I am pretty sure they closed too.

I tried to stop in September and they were closed.

Thanks. We see it every time we pass by and we will be passing by about lunch time on 10/20 so I had thought I would give it a try. I'll call when we get close so I don't waste time getting off of the interstate if they are closed.
