wow oh man glade we are going though disney company
I have to say i was scared of useing cregs list i got my sons bed off it and my ps3. i think we were lucky we didnt get scamed I fill bad for all those who do

Oh man...what a bummer. I feel bad for those people, in a way, but at the same time I don't.

Like the article (and my Mom :rotfl: )says: If it sounds too good to be true...it probably is!

Exactly! It does stink that they were out money, and for some people that could have cost them a vacation, but really, how much cheaper are the discount tickets? I always check deeper into a situation if it seems too good to be true.

thats different though...when you buy something like a bed off craigs list, you can actually see it and check it out before buying it whereas if you buy tickets you can only find out if they are good at the time of the event...craigslist is good in general especially if you are trying to sell/buy used furniture, clothes etc...

i dont think id ever buy tickets from a site like that. heck if i found a site with good deal id post here ask all the disers if they heard of them. if not one person gave me a good post of it id just shrug and go to disney company
I was lucky with the ps3. and the bed well my son loves it and will more once his rooms finished and he can have his slide on it

Craigs is a good place to find or sell many inanimate objects but with so much fraud out there event tickets can be sketchy, especially printed out tickets.

The guy was stupid, how long can you committ fraud out of your own business and think all will be goo din the morning?

That sucks, people think they can save a few dollars and in the end wind up throwing away a bunch of money. I hope that guy gets prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

He probably thought he could keep ahead of anyone who was burned.

Probably picked the people that he gave the good tickets to, and had some other criteria for those he gave the used ones to, probably went for people who would talk him up positively for the good tickets, and hoped to make a ton of money (as he did, since he wasn't even using any of his own money!) before he stopped (or got caught).

I wonder if there is any connection to that Michael Maldonado (alias?) person that people were talking about last month. For those on this board who are newer and who couldn't understand why some of us were so suspicious of Maldonado, let's just say that there are plenty of stories like this to justify it.

Just because he met someone and walked them through the gate, doesn't mean that he didn't reuse that ticket and send it to someone through the mail who couldn't get through the gate.

If something seems too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true.

I sent this to my MIL, who wanted to buy them off of Ebay from a guy that would meet them at the gates. Then meet them again at the end of the 2nd day to get the tickets back again. I kept telling her it was a bad idea, buy them from Disney. Which she ended up doing, but this is exactly why I'm so leary of stuff like that. The money you save isn't always worth it!

I think it's illegal with Disney too. I don't think tickets are transferable once used. only the original buyer can use them. good thing Disney don'task them for ownership proof of the tickets.... yet.

Which is prollly why Annual Passes have the owner's picture on them.
so people don't buy a dozen and rent them out per day.

Great minds think alike lol! I wondered the same thing the moment I read the title of the thread.

on the flip side, i did get my legoland and six flag tickets off ebay last year for about half the gate prices. however, i was crossing my fingers the whole time to see if they would work (the did!). i bought from a reputable seller and no returning of tickets at the end of the day involved.

however, i wasn't going to gamble with the disneyland ticket money, that's way too much dough for a family of 5.
