Obsessive Compulsive Planning Behavior..

ok i think my Hubby has Totally Lost it !!!
he told me that he thinks that we should buy a townhouse in orlando so that instead of staying at our time share (1 week per year) and the hotels for all of our extra trips to Disney and the days before and after the cruises we take that we should just bite the bullet and buy a townhouse....
ok so now we are looking all over the web and asking for brochures and information on their townhome communities...and me...the obsessed planner i am is already deciding how i want to decorate this house. ughhhhh!!! :earseek: one of the homes isn't even built yet !!

calgon take me away !!!
(preferably BEFORE the men in white coats do )

pfishgirl..you don't want calgon to take you away, you want the Magic or Wonder of Disney. HA HA

Lampskies, I know what 1500 posts makes you, obsessed like us.

Welcome! :wave2:

I completely understand!!!The thing with me is I NEED to have a trip in the works to be able to relax and have something to look forward to. DH thinks I'm nuts planning so far ahead but I never see him complaing when vacation comes around. I am fraeking out trying to give him hints that I NEED to have something to look forward to I can't wait to install a countdown clock under my name!!!!!Please pray that it comes soon

Hello My Name is Steve and I have Obessive Compulsive Planning Disorder

(I think at this point of the 12 step meeting everyone says "Hi Steve")

(And if I were in recovery I would say how many days since I last did any planning)

(And anyone posting on these boards who claims to be in recovery, well, ha ha ha ha ha ha, that's a good one...)

Okay, so I just noticed that the most recent menus to be found on the net are newer than the last ones I saved on my computer, so as part of my planning I am deciding what I will eat on my next cruise. Since I don't know with whom we will be seated, I can't really predict wine.

But I can plan that a week from tonight, the evening before my cruise, I plan on having dinner at Dixie Crossroads in Titusville. Been studying their menu, too, since I haven't been there since right before our first DCL cruise.

It's a shame that I can't organize and plan the things that I have to do the way I plan and organize my cruises. Did my first DCL cruise 8/03 followed by 8/04 and already booked the Magic for 8/19/06.

I work to live, not live to work.

Bev

Me too! On my days off, I am on here all of the time. It makes it hard to get anything done around the house.

Oh, you mean this is supposed to be something that I do on my OWN time??? :earseek:

Wait... didn't we have a discussion before about you being a football fan... a cruise during the playoffs... what are you going to do????

Hi Steve !!!
Welcome to the Obsession... I can't remember the last day I didn't plan ahead for something. Especially a Disney Cruise...
Although I will say I have never looked at Menus ahead of time so Steve you got me there....
Hey, I FULLY admit I am Obsessed with Planning so that SHOULD account for something...shouldn't it???
Isn't it funny how every one ..cough..(dh)..cough.. thinks we are crazy for planning ahead BUT when we get there and we already know ALL the answers and stratigies on what to do and when and where, we are only then no longer crazy !!!

Oh and Hey Steve By the way
I am soooooooooooooooo jealous of your countdown clocks...
I wish mine was half as close as yours to sailing again....
even though i only got back last sunday hahahaha

Hi Stacy!!

You are so right about those that say we are crazy! Eventually they come to their senses and thank us for all of the planning and research! :)

You guys are so right. We are insane and accused of going overboard prior to the vacation, but when we are on vacation they are sining our praises (hopefuly). :cool1:

It is probably a good thing that I don't have a job where I have a computer in front of me all of the time or I would probably get fired for being on the boards all of the time.

I can take or leave the NFL, I'm much more a fan of college football. If I'm home, I'll watch the playoffs, but not very much other than that. If I'm on a cruise...and especially if I am on a DISNEY CRUISE, I have better things to do than watch pro football. Like nothing. Doing absolutely nothing. That somewhat pudgy dad who sleeps everywhere on the DCL TV commercial? That was based on me.

Thank you for the countdown envy. This will be the best week of my life, countdown-wise, as I never again expect to have two cruises, let alone twice on DCL, within 11 weeks. But that fluke was part of the decision to do it.

Spent this morning going over the menus for the 4 day yet again. Leaning toward more beef than I had previously thought. And going with the Cod in Tritons. We won't do Palo's, but finally plan to do it on DCL #4 in April.

Amazingly, for a planner, I am not packed yet, but that is because one of my black labs sulks when he sees luggage because he hates when we leave him. We're trying to figure out how to sneak him on board in our carry on. He would like the buffet and the pools.

Would love to book holiday week 12/2006 on board, but just know DW would freak at the cost. And maybe the fact that the house is falling apart should tell me that perhaps she has a point. Sure will miss her--never cruised w/o her....

Steve,
There was a black lab on board for our last DCL, it was a seeing eye dog. I was just curious, where would it go to the bathroom while on the ship??
Don't you have a friend that is a DR that can varify you NEED your dog?? haha..just a thought...

HI
I to have obsessive compulsive planning disorder, and proud of it...

My husband and friends think I am nuts.. However during every vacation he is happy things go smoothly, and after every vacation he always brags to our friends how my planning realy paid off....

I just wonder why my house seems to always look like a tornado hit it !!!!!  :rotfl:

Yours too? We keep going to ball games and Disney. To heck with the dishwasher that "spits" water at us. Just get a towel and clean it up before you open the door. Oh, and the toilet that takes 20 minutes to fill. It will get there! And the deck stairs are a little wobbly, but just make sure the kids don't use them!!!

That was too funny !!!

Hey, Just MOVE it's easier then fixing up the house...

Here I am alone on these boards. That tells me that I need more help than I thought. Nothing a good cruise wont fix. Counting the days. I have been researching the weather. Now I know I am over the edge.
