I know I've been obsessing over DVC too much when DW doesn't want to talk about it anymore... I'm constantly trying to maximize points, APs, DDE, air fare sales/schedules...

We're going to BCV in July and BWV in Nov. for Food & Wine. I'm already thinking about summer + fall '06 and driving my DW  with the options...

Also, notwithstanding that we still have 56 '05 points that can be banked to 06 or used by May 06. I'm starting to twitch.... Maybe I can use the points for OKW in Feb!!!

I know I'm not the only DISer who does this.

I (& DH) can relate!
We try to keep the DVC vacation talk between ourselves...(and we talk DVC planning much of the time)...especially if we're bringing up dates in 2006!--family and friends just wouldn't get it, LOL!
I'm glad to have you like-minded folks to share thoughts with.

BCV trip in June 05, BCV and DVC cruise in September 05 all set. Now I'm trying to take advantage of the AP I will be purchasing for DS for June. I'm thinking we should go back in May to get the most out of the AP even though DS may be going to WDW with friends for either New Years or Spring Break.

One good thing though is that we will be taking friends with us in June and they are also Disney nuts but they don't own DVC. We started planning the June trip in August 2004 and we get together regularly to discuss plans, activities, dinners, etc. I even turned them onto the Disboards!! Annmarie

I have our points usage planned through 2007. Estimates, of course, but we are planning on sending our daughter (and 7 of her closest friends) for a graduation trip June 2007, so I had to plan way in advance. (I'm providing the rooms, but the friends will have to pay for food, transportation and park passes. :) )

I have my points planned until Aug 08, unless I borrow. ;)

Dh commented over the weeknd that we are normally very fiscally resposible people, but when it comes to our DVC points, we are pretty heavily into the borrow mode. Is that a bad thing? :teeth:

You are not alone. :grouphug:

My DH and DS16 make a face like they are going to hang themselves :crazy2: if I mention something I read on the DIsBoard.

I have been plannign our August vacation sicne we got home last August and are already thinking about 2006.

Thank goodness for the DisBoard! It gives me my fix for the day!

Many many people, including we two, think that borrowing is THE mode to be in!!! The only negative I can think of would be for resale. When we bought a resale add on, we were so pleased that it came with nearly enough points for us to take a 3 night cruise.

I broach the WDW, DVC topic very carefully with family and friends. Now, I have invited nearly all of my good friends and significant family members to go with us at one time or another, but still, they have much less tolerance for WDW-DVC talk/planning than I do, so I go to these boards, where my true friends are!!!

Who else, besides DH, would be as happy as I am that I just made a ressie for standard view studio for Sat. and Sun. nights of MLKjr weekend. I have to laugh because so many times people say that they just have to squeeze in another trip because they've bought an annual pass. Well, we've gone to Florida every year MLKjr weekend, but not to WDW, but guess what, those AP's, which we're not even buying until our August trip, have burned a hole in my pocket, heck, we were probably going to Florida anyway. We have a March use year, that's one reason why we thought "No, it's past the banking deadline," well, now we only have 29 points to bank, well within the 25% limit for December, if those points last until then.

Bobbi :flower:

PS. Now to rehash our '06 plans, fewer and fewer points, unless, yes, there are 500 '07 points that still need to be allocated!!!!

Join the neighborhood ! we all do it ! :rotfl: and if i hear dsis say one more time to me " the kingdom is not the only place to go on vacation" " oh, are you going to be in town long or are you going back home to the kingdom soon" :tilt: :teleport: :tilt:
:thewave:

:rotfl: I was so glad to read all these comments. My husband tried to talk me out of joining DVC because he was afraid I would no longer have enough to obsess about for our next WDW vacation! -- Suzanne

The first thing I usually do in the morning after getting the kids off to school is to check the disboards. If I don't go on at all during the day I will go on at night and usually stay up till 1 am reading the boards.

I am constantly talking about WDW and DVC... I have a calculator and my Vacation book with points handy all the time. I am constantly adding up points and thinking of where to go and when to go and I'm into early 2007 with my budgeting of points!!

My kids think I am nuts and they are Sick of me talking about WDW. My 4 year old talks to me about Cinderella and her castle and going back to WDW all the time so we're on the same page :flower:

I just bought the Disney War book by J.Stewart and can't put it down.

At least I know that I am not the only one and that maybe other people are weird because they haven't tapped into the "Magic" like I have :confused3

BTW I haven't even closed on my DVC but we just got our financing approval letter yesterday

I'm hoping this obsession will get better but I highly doubt it!!!

Update: I was able to sell DW on a feb trip home! We are now waitlisted for a std studio 2/19-2/24. :cool1:

It's a tough week to get. But, I'm giddy about it regardless!

This is the first year we are into borrow mode. Next year HHI and we will borrow into the next year. Then we are done for awhile. Okay a year tops.
I though I would NEVER borrow. but our points are enough for now. Don't need another car payment!
People at work thing I need therapy! I am happiest when I am planning a disney trip. AP's purchased Oct 04 and we are getting 4 trips out of it.
