OBSCURE question about the old "Psycho" show

as part of the Alfred Hitchc___k attraction.

Every show, they had the "mother" throw a knife at one of the show people and it would hit one of the pillars on the Bates Motel. I always wondered if it was really thrown each time, or if it was an "effect"

Hitchcock lover here and I really miss that attraction!

Theres a few attactions Id like to see go before some others. Price of progress I guess. I liked the AHC show also.
