Obscure Flower/Garden Festival question??

We're scheduled to be at WDW up until 4/14, driving home 4/15...which, coincidentally is the official start of the Epcot festival. Can anyone tell me to what extent Epcot is "decorated" (for lack of a better word! ) PRIOR to the start of the festival? Flower beds, topiaries, etc.? I assume they can't do it all overnight, but maybe they can...

DH loves to take photographs of flowers and we'd all love to see Epcot all decked out for the Festival...do we need to add a day?? (oh...darn... )

I would expect that you will be able to see a small amount of the the topiaries and gardens already being set up the day or two before, we were there the couple of days after and it doesn't take them long to start taking them down, they do a lot in the after hours. I don't know for 100% but that gives you a little idea, the topiaries are really neat.

They do start setting up the topiaries and whatever at least a week before. However, flowers/decorations and such are not put put/added until the end of the week.

We were there about 8 years ago the week before the festival. A lot of the topiaries were out and they were also just putting together the train display next to Germany. The first day of the festival was out departure day so we went to Epcot to see it. Big difference. Instead of just being green shapes, all the topiaries now had colorful flowers decorating them.

You will be able to get a taste of what the festival is like but not the full show.

ADD THE DAY....you wont regret it. I try to make my trips during the FGF and this year I hit it right on the nose! I'll be there April 17th for 10 days. It's a beautiful site and the pictures turn out perfect. And the entertainment is nice as well. I am really looking forward to seeing Davy Jone on the 17th. I can remember watching the Monkeys on TV and It was awsome.
