I have picked my 2017 date so I can do an OBB when we sail in April. My dilemma is I really want one of the 8A rooms with the dividing wall. Right now all four are available. Odds are they won't be by the time we sail. I am thinking about booking now and then cancel right before we sail and re book on board. My question is, will the room I cancel be immediately available for me to re book? Anyone know?

What you need to do is go ahead and book it. When you get onboard, "reshop" the cruise. It's possible that prices could rise enough to negate the OBB perks. But, maybe not. If the price is lower doing the OBB, then cancel and rebook right there on the ship. If the price is lower with the original booking, just keep it.

Thank you, wasn't sure if I could cancel while on board.

Well, it depends, I think if you book with a travel agent, you might not be able to. I have no experience with this, but I feel like I read that. In that case, you could always book another room, come home, cancel the original reservation you made on land, then have the TA move the room you booked on board to the room you really wanted.

Yes, if the original reservation is made through a TA, then you have to make a new reservation. And then, once home (of if you can contact the TA on the ship) have the TA cancel the old one.
