Trying to make sure this is right before the phone lines blow up next week.

DH and I went on a cruise a couple of weeks ago. We filled out the form to book 2 placeholders. We added our kids' names to the list of people who will be cruising, as they will be joining us on our next 2 cruises (assuming they behave between now and then:)).

Got my email confirmations--one has me and DS#1, the other has DH and DS#2. Got worried because what we want is 2 cruises will all 4 of us in one cabin each cruise.

I called to see about this, and the person I spoke to said (1) no problem if we want to book all 4 of us in one cabin--we will still get the appropriate 10% discount.

BUT, she said that we cannot book 2 separate cruises. I feel almost certain that we were told we could book 2 separate cruises.

Interesting is she also told me we could add whoever we want to these and the 10% discount will apply to the entire booking. I had thought the 10% discount only applied to the people who were actually on the cruise.

No. You may book 2 cruises on board, but they must be for the same cruise to get benefits for each. You can book as many future cruises as you want - but only one/one set will get the benefits. They're very clear about that.

You can use the second placeholder for part of the deposit for a second cruise at a different time, but it will not get any of the other benefits.

If you all reside in the same household (DCL has the same address for all 4) than you cannot book two different sail dates and get the full benefits. You can book up to two rooms on the same cruise and get full benefits. Whoever told you that you could book 2 separate cruises did a poor job in communicating the rules.

THanks for the response! I don't know how I got the 2 rooms vs. 2 separate cruises so confused. Probably had too many of those champagne cocktails they were serving at the adult pool.

No, OBB only allows for up to 2 staterooms on 1 future cruise. So if you only need 1 stateroom (1 placeholder) you can put all 4 of you in that stateroom and receive the discount. I would then cancel the other OBB, though you may be able to use it towards deposit on another cruise but without the discount. It's my understanding that the 2nd will lose all "OBB benefits" if you don't keep both placeholders for the same cruise date. Sorry you were given misinformation.

Enjoy your cruise!
