Stupid question here... getting ready for the Panama Cruise in 12 days (WOO HOO!!!) but now I have Type 2 diabetes (BOO!) so I need to be careful. Does anyone know what kind of oatmeal they serve in the morning (i.e. steel cut, rolled, instant)? I would be surprised if its steel cut.

I really like having some kind of hot cereal for breakfast... right now I make my own using flax seeds, but don't expect them to have that so oatmeal would be the next best thing.

Thanks!

As a picky person about my oatmeal, I'd recommend bringing the dry ingredients and making overnight oats in your stateroom fridge...I often do that when I travel...that said, I don't use steel cut (doesn't work for quick oats, I think) so hopefully other folks will weigh in with the types available in the dining rooms
Have a great trip

We are on this cruise also!
The oatmeal is my very favorite thing at Cabanas, I eat some every morning. It is so delicious, the best I have ever eaten.
I'm not really sure if its rolled or steal cut though, but its YUMMMMMMMM

There are plenty of protein choices in Cabanas and in the dining room if you’re avoiding carbs more, but you wouldn’t be able to order off of the room service menu as that’s is all pastries and cereals.

As a daily consumer of oatmeal (slow cooker with half steel-cut and half groats btw), I can certify that the Cabanas oatmeal is rolled, not steel cut or instant. OP, you mentioned using flax seeds. They have flax seed meal in the station next to the cut fruits, along with pumpkin seeds and other usual add-ons to oatmeal.

Oatmeal eater here- cabanas is not bad. I believe it is rolled oats. Plenty of options for toppings that are diet friendly. While it won't be what you make at home, you should be ok for vacation. I find it yummy. Enjoy your cruise!
