I was wondering if anyone knew about Oak Plantation by Starwood--- expedia had a good rate but I have never heard of it before. Any imput would be appreciated. thanks!

We stayed there a few years back. At that time it was a Hampton Vacation Resort. We couldn't get into OKW for a few days on our trip (last minute trip) so I found Oak Plantation. It is down in Kissimmee right off of 192. It looks like it was an apartment complex that was at one time converted to a timeshare resort. You drive in through a gated entraces and there are clusters of buildings, all with outside entrances like an apartment complex, around a lake.

We had a one bedroom unit on the 2nd floor and it was nice. It had a larger kitchen with full size appliances, big living room/ dining room area and the bedroom had a King sized bed in it. Our unit only had an entrance to the bath from the inside of the bedroom.. Also the bathrooms were small, but it looks as if the place may have been built in the 70s so small bathrooms were typical back them.

Maybe someone who has stayed there recently can offer more input. If you have any questions though, fire away.

we stayed there in 2000 and again in 2001.

The first year, we had a one bedroom on the ground floor and we were happy with it. It had a full kitchen, eating area and living rm combo. The washer/dryer is all one unit and is small in this unit.

The next year we got a one bedroom on an upper level. I think it might have been called a loft. It was much bigger...living rm area, dining, king size bed, full size washer and dryer. Ask for this type of unit if you decide on Oak Plantation.

There is free use of washer and dryer in the laundry area, just need to buy/bring your own detergent. This is what we used the first year, since the one in our unit was small.
There is also free use of the tennis court and basketball court. Just ask at the front desk and they will give you what you need. I believe there was a small gym too.
There are 2 heated pools with towels supplied in the pool area. There is also one hot tub in the pool area.

Someone will try to get you to go to a timeshare presentation but just say no thank you if not interested and you shouldn't be bothered again.

We also found that if we went north on the john young parkway and then west along the toll highway (?535) it was so fast getting to the parks compared to going along 192.

We were satisfied with our accomodations and don't have anything negative to say about either of our 2 stays.
