Oak Plantation Resort in Kissimee?

Anybody stay there? Its only $83/night -- I'm guessing its cause its 8 miles from Disney. Our concern is that 8 miles might translate to 45 minutes in traffic?

Any and all experiences would be greatly appreciated!

it is further than that - but it you use the back door (535 - then 536) it shouldn't be but around 20 minutes (okay sometimes 35 minutes).

when I was last in this area - there was alot of construction.
I can't check for this time - I won't have a car....

Friends of mine stayed there last Oct. They were happy with it.
They did however make a few comments about the unit they were in being a little dated...but clean. I guess some of the units are being renovated and they hope to stay in one of those next time. They had read about some reviews about ant problems in some units but theirs was fine.
They also said that the dryer took forever to actually dry the clothes.
Overall they were pleased and plan to go back there again.

We just stayed there the first week of April. The unit we were in was just right for my grandson and myself. No problems except for the dryer, it didn't really dry the clothes.
The drive was about 20 minutes. We left everyday about 8:15 or so and would make to the park gate just before opening.
