Hi all,

Sorry, I know it's not DLP related, but is anyone else getting strange PMs on here from another member?? I'm just wondering if it's just me?!

Also, I'm using the DIS boards app on my pad and sometimes I see the PMs on here, and sometimes not, and visa versa on the computer - but that might just be a quirky glitch! The PMs are still real though.....

Sorry, like I say, just wondering if I'm the only one.

Hmmm, looks like you're maybe the only one? If the PMs are offensive or rude, please use the REPORT facility, it's the little warning triangle in the top right-hand corner.

If the PMs aren't offensive but just annoying, you can put the poster on IGNORE, you can do this by using your Control Panel, click on User CP (top left), then Settings & Options, then Edit Ignore List. Then type their name into the empty text box and click 'Okay'. Once a poster's on ignore you won't see any of their posts (the exception is if one of their posts has been quoted) and they won't be able to send you any more PMs.

Hope this helps. :)

ETA: Can't help with the app though, I'm still in the dark ages regarding them!

Thanks Ware Bears - it's not offensive as such, but just very weirdly written, have to read them a few times for the sentences to even make sense (lots of missing words), and it hit alarms bells because they were asking about my daughter and our upcoming trips to Disney....... and accusing us of taking her out of school and her being a truant. I've seem the person post on here asking seemly normal questions, but never really engage with the posts or thank anyone for helping...which makes me wonder if they're a bit of a troll.......

I think I'll take your advice and use the ignore list option. Especially as it looks like I'm the only one they're targetting.....

Thanks all.

Hope you don't mind me saying, but I'd definitely consider questions about your daughter as offensive, and use the REPORT facility as well.

I'd do that too.
Maybe someone is misusing somebody else account?

Maybe you're right. No, you probably ARE right. See, this is why I posted about this, to bounce it off you lovely lot. I was convincing myself that I was over reacting, but you ARE right.

Thanks

I dunno. It's a relatively new account - created in Jan (as was mine!!!) and only posts in the 20s....... It's not from a really well established or active member.....

Have now reported. Just realised (and this is why I've been getting confused between the web and app versions) I'm getting PM messages AND 'visitor messages' - didn't realise they were different until today! :confused3 Had 4 PMs from this person, and 8 'visitor messages' from this person.

Anyway, thanks for all your help and thoughts - hopefully this will all go away now and we can carry on talking about happy stuff!
