DW and I are coming to Toronto in July for one Saturday night, compliments of those recent $34 airfares to Buffalo on Southwest! We're staying at the Holiday Inn on King. I know that's kind of in the "club district". Any of you familiar with the area and have any recommendations for night clubs within walking distance?

Thanks,
BobK/Orlando

I'm not personally familiar, but if you go to www.toronto.com, and click on the bars and clubs link, that will give you a better description of a club since there are so many different kinds:)

Your smack in the middle of club district. I could name almost 100 off the top of my head in walking distance, but it all depends what your looking for. Dance clubs?, bars with live music, pubs?

Toronto.com is a good place to look into places and then if you narrow it down maybe ask for some suggestions/opinions here.

Thank you....I checked the toronto.com website and there are all kinds of ideas on there! I think we'll find a few places to occupy ourselves.

That's great. Be sure to update us when you get back. One night it Toronto isn't really enough, you know?:)

I love going to Devil's Martini - 25 plus crowd (best on Friday or Saturday nights). I've always had a great time there!

Have fun!

Take advantage of the roof top pool - it is so nice to tan and relax up there!

The drinking age is 19 in TO, so at some of the clubs you'll definitely find a much younger crowd than you might be used to in the States.

Hi Anne! What are you doing over here on the Canadian threads??

Anyone with tips, please continue. I've scoped out a place called Guvernment from the Toronto website. Supposed to be a huge complex!

Bob ~ You're going to enjoy Toronto! The Guvernment is a fun place, but it's not in the club district and a bit removed from all the action. If you only have one night, I would suggest one of the clubs in and around your hotel.

I don't know what kind of club you are looking for but you can try Shmooze on Mercer (pretty much right across the street from your hotel). It is a pretty big space, too.

toronto.com is great, but I would also check out Martini Boys.

Yeah, I've known Schmooze to be good for the over 30 crowd. If you like wine "Crush" at King & Spadina is a fabulous wine bar and restaurant, and apparently if you have dinner there and ask your server, they will give you free guest pass to Brant House. Which is another club for the 25+ crowd.

I am already SO regetting that we have just one night in Toronto.

Starseed, I thought Guvernment was right there by our hotel. Apparently not. Might have to rethink that. I'd ideally like to stay within stumbling distance (er, I mean walking distance) of the hotel. As far as music, we like techno/trance the best but usually all we find is hip hop which is big everywhere.

TreesyB, I'll read up on your recommended Schmmoze. I may need to make my own little map of that area and mark everything down.

I'll continue to check out toronto.com and now the martiniboys website. Thanks so much!!
