O/T...Hotel downtown Montreal

O.k so we are taking the via to ottawa for a few days and staying over canada day and then going on via to Montreal...so I have our hotel booked for Ottawa but need something for Montreal.
I want to be able to walk from the via and yet not pay 200.00 per night.
I got a great deal in Ottawa and am hoping for the same for Montreal.

any ideas??

p.s kids travel free on via for the summer.....cool.
