O/T: DD16 driving on own today!!

One of my girls just got her G2 and can drive on her own now

I am happy for her but now I am a nervous wreck! She drove her sisters to work in Listowel (1/2 hour away) and now I am worrying until they get home....I tell myself it will get easier but man it is hard...they are growing up on me!! I know it is a good thing to have her license but man it is scary....

I can only imagine your fear ~ especially in the winter ~ I learned to drive in the winter ~ nearly 25 years ago and my parents were nervous wrecks. You just have to trust that the driver training she has had is going to work. Give her some time to adjust to the winter roads and good luck!

Of course they made it home safe and sound...I feel that she is a good driver but that was when I was with her..she has had all the driver training and I know it will get easier....but yeah I would feel better if she had summer driving under her belt BEFORE winter driving...oh well, just one more thing for a Mom to worry about...3 16 yr olds driving!

My DD got her G2 on September 26th (She just turned 19 this past Friday). No matter how old they are it's scary. Expect for your DD to have an accident because it will happen. Approx. 80% of young drivers will have an accident in the first year.

Mine had her accident on December 5th. She was driving with my DD9 in the car. Fortunately no one got hurt...just the car....but technically it was her fault. Lucky for her the other driver failed to stop at the scene because my DD would have been charged. If that had gone on her record her insurance would have most likely doubled. The insurance is already high because she had to made principle driver on the car. We already owned 3 cars (DH had a summer car) and then we got her an old car from DH's company. Then on top of that, her first winter on the road and it's the winter from ****. The first day we had heavy snow I made her take the bus. I've mellowed a bit since then.

I know how your feel. My DS16 just got his G2 on Jan 7. He is currently at work and is usuing my vehicile. I to hope it gets easier over time. Everytime he is out driving I am quite nervous. But I will say, its nice not having to stop what you are doing to take him somewhere or pick him up.
