Just a reminder-starting Friday the "O-Lights" close one hour before Park Closing to make way for "Symphony In The Stars".

It is not known if they will be reopened after the "fallout zone" is cleared and,if so,if they will then remain on for the traditional "Bonus Hour".:)

I didn't think that this fireworks show was supposed to begin until 1/5/16.

It's begins the night of Dec 17th for the Star Wars movie release ticketed after party. Then it'll continue the 18th and on

The Osborne lights themselves are not in the fireworks fall out zone, just the area where the bring the desserts for the dessert party.
That being said I did speak to a Osborne tech guy and he said that the lights are scheduled until 10 pm with the bonus hour being until 11 pm. On nights with EMH they will dim the lights to about 15% while the fireworks go on and then go back to normal operation.
The hard part will be getting to them from about 10pm until 11:20 pm (on nights with EMH) since Pixar Avenue will be closed for fireworks fall out and the only way to get to the O-Lights will be Star Tours/Muppets area.

Do you know if the lights will be on during the Star Wars party on the 17th? It would be nice to see them - with hopefully a smaller crowd. I think the party starts at 10pm

I have no idea on that, sorry
The party starts at 11 pm

Just to add the Tech also told me that they are not 100% sure if they will turn them off at 11 pm on non EMH nights. I'm guessing depending on crowd level in the area at that time they might leave them on but to be sure, be there to be there before 11 pm to see them

What if you want to stay down near the light area during Fireworks? Is that allowed?
We are going to watch the fireworks on the 18th from outside the park. We aren't going to watch them again on the 21st, when we are there for the dessert party.
Can we leave the seating area for the party and then just hang out near Muppets, for instance and head back when the turn the lights back up?

So they WILL be on from10:00-11:00?-the Times Guide has them closing at 10:00 PM.Thanks.:)

The dessert party is from 7 pm until 8:30 pm, after that time you have to leave the area of the party, hence why the fireworks are so late, they have to wait for the dessert party people and cast and crew to pick everything up and leave that area.
You can stay on streets of America to watch the fireworks Streets of America is not blocked off during fireworks, just Pixar Avenue, from Little Mermaid all the way to Studio Catering Co

Right, I WANT to leave the area actually, to walk through and see the lights better.
What I'm hoping to do is do that while most of the folks head down to watch fireworks.
As long as we aren't forced to clear the area we are planning to stay around the lights (not in the party area, just in the lights area).
And cross my fingers there are enough people drawn to the fireworks that I can get some elbow room looking at the lights.

that's what the tech guy told me, the 10 pm to 11 pm will be the extra hour and they can decide, last minute, if to leave them on from 11 pm to midnight when the park closes at 11 pm.

yes, you'll be able to do that.

Thanks.

It seems like they should just say they are open until Park Close(11:00 PM).

I think that because it's common knowledge that they leave them on an hour after park closing they are saying "until 10 pm" and leaving them the extra hour until 11 pm. It's all very confusing and I'm sure it'll change on a nightly basis, maybe

I just think about the masses who aren't Disney "informed'-they will make their plans around a 10:00 PM O-Lights close.

Still seems "strange" to "close" an hour early just so there can be a "bonus" hour.
