O.K. Exactly WHERE do I look for the current Dis Con info?

This forum is called Dis Convention 2002, but the threads in it are about everything BUT Dis Con II. I'm wanting to get the most current info, so I can make my plans. Currently I have not got reservations because I (maybe foolishly) bought into DVC and nothing is available for the Dis Con dates. I have myself on a wait list for Dec. 4-9 at VWL, BCV, and BWV. I am hoping to soon know more about the Dis Con, so I'll know if it is worth it for me to book outside the DVC resorts and spend a LOT more points just to be able to come to Dis Con. Otherwise, I will start looking for different dates so I will be able (hopefully) to use my points this year for a trip.

Hi Carl, the only thing offical that has been annouced is the dates. Have you tried OKW for ressies? We are all waiting for Pete to announce the rest. I believe he is on a cruise right now. As a DVC owner myself, I am sorry you are not able to get anything. We are going to be at VWL from Dec 1-6 and moving to BCV Dec 6-9. The first 2 weeks of Dec are greeat and from what I understand from the DVC board it has always been very popular with DVC owners. Good Luck.

First, welcome to the DIS-CONvention forum...lol.

We are all waiting for information for registration to come out, so please check back every now and then.

After registration comes out, hopefully, the official itinerary will be coming out soon, also.

We have several DISers here that are DVCers also that have been planning since last December to get the DVC resort that they wanted, and many have.

I remember hearing them talk about applying at certain times for their desired resort.

This is a good forum where you can talk and get to know each other better before we see each other in December. It was kept running from last year.

The 2002 DIS-CONvention-II is tentatively scheduled from December 4th thru 8th, 2002.

Some of us have already planned to go to MVMCP on 12/08/2002, since this is the last day of the convention.

After the official registration and official itinerary comes out we will try and plan alot of unofficial DIS mini-meets around the official itinerary.

I hope that this answers your question, and I hope that you get the resort that you want.

is Boardwalk, my home resort, but I don't care if I get BCV or VWL. I just want one of those. Anything else would be no better than All Stars. I bought DVC for LOCATION. Location, location, location, that is what it is all about. For Dis Con, BCV or BWV of course would be best, but VWL would be close to MK and that would be just as good as far as I'm concerned. Actually, what I want is 3 days at one of the Epcot resorts and 3 at VWL, but I'm not particular as long as it is one of the three. What I'm planning on, if Dis Con seems like something I just CAN'T miss, is to use points to get Contemporary Resort. Otherwise, I'll just book different dates - like in November. (IF I can even get anything then. I just purchased DVC and am still a little leery of whether it is all it is cut out to be.)

Hi, Carl, welcome to the DIS-CON board. We're all waiting patiently for the official announcement from Pete. Once we get that, the boards will take a totally different turn. We plan mini meets, meals, and unofficial events right up until the last minute. Believe me, you can be as busy or as laid back as you want to be. We packed a ton of activities into last year's DIS-CON and had a ball. Of course, we were all totally exhausted and some of us lost our voices from laughing and just plain having a great time!! What you're seeing is some preliminary planning and just some "getting to know you stuff" as Ray mentioned. Keep watching these boards for more info to come.

Welcome to the board Carl.

Trust me, when the official annoucement is made, this board will change drastically from what it is today. There will be so much planning going on you won't be able to keep up without checking in everyday and it gets worse right up until you get on the plane or set out in the car.

Of course, all that planning goes out the window for some people once they arrive at WDW and they just follow everybody else aimlessly thru all the meets having no clue what was or is really going on.

This is the true sign of the commando. Plan, Plan, Plan....forget it all and just go with the flow.
