Lisa, just go and ENJOY!

Do like I did, read these boards about everyone's experiences, make sure you have LOTS of batteries and sunscreen and enjoy!

Applying self tanner?? Driving your co-worker's insane? That's what I'm usually doing at that point!!!:p

What about a tanning salon? Anyone have any opinions on salon vs. self-tanning before hitting the parks? I've only got two weeks left too and it's been sooooooooo cold up here we are very, very pale.

Lisa, we haven't got our confirmations yet and we're going soon as well. However, I just spoke to Loews yesterday and added a day onto our reservations. Everything seems to be in order, so I'm not too worried about the confirmations.

We're leaving in 12 days and I just hit the tanning salon today. It felt so good to be under those warm lamps and I even got a bit of color already. You might want to check around for introductory deals. I got a 4 tans for $4 deal. PERFECT! Just want to get rid of the fish belly whiteness before I head south. LOL :smooth:

On the wee bit more serious side:

Make reservations at eateries that will be hard to get into.

If not already familiar with them, study the layouts of the parks and CityWalk, so you won't feel at sea when you get there.

Call the dermatologist so he/she can tell you that you'd be nuts to risk skin cancer by going to a tanning salon. Now spend the money you would have spent at the salon on sunblock instead. Fish bellies of the world, unite! (Pale is good. Think Nicole Kidman!)

Do I have opinions on salon tanning????? YOU BET I DO!! Two Words SKIN CANCER!!!

Well - you DID ask! :p

I'm a huge self-tanner and sunblock advocate! And if I do say so myself - I have beautiful, unwrinkled skin and get many compliments on it. :smooth:

Which self-tanner do you use. Any suggestions on application etc. (I got the point about the tanning salon:p )

Several tanning salons in our area are now offering some sort of spray-on tan. You stand in a stall and a the tanning substance is misted on you. It is prom season, and a lot of the girls have tried it. I haven't heard any complaints. That might me something to check out. I think here they were paying $15 per session for the spray-on.

I've heard about those No11's mom- They're called "Mystic Tan" around here and I think they're pretty good. I don't know how long they last.

I use Neutrogena's that has a tint in it. That way you can see where you've covered and where you've missed. I shave my legs really well and slather every place I'm putting the tanner on with lotion. Then put the tanner on - before the lotion is completely dry but after it's rubbed in. Be sure and get the tops of your feet and toes or they'll look weird! Make sure you IMMEDIATELY wash your hands and get under your fingernails or they will stain. I always mean to get some soft of plastic gloves to use to apply it - but I never remember!
