Anyone know the status of the World Showcase films? I know they're working on O Canada now...heard about China too. Are they both down...if so, is there a projected open date? TIA!

Lol. Oh Canada film is outdated. Can't they find anyone other than Martin Short ?Carter's homerun 1993. This film is at least 27 years old.

I'm going in mid-September, and I really hope that the China one is open.

We were in Epcot this past Wednesday and stopped in to O’ Canada. A CM told us that it was the last day they were showing the film, that it was going down the next day and they may be replacing portions of the film. That was all, and we didn’t ask for more information.

They might've had some older footage in it, but it all was compiled into the film in 2007 when they first started showing it. They showed the first film for 25 years

Older lol. Showed P.M. Pierre Truedau. What happened to those in between? I hope they get rid of Marty Short. Use someone better.

When we were there two weeks ago, we saw the China film. There was no mention of it going down while we were there.

In the France pavilion they still show the original film

I saw the China film yesterday. It is open. However, they do need to update that France film

they never updated the norway film before they closed the ride either

Impressions de France is perfect. A break on a hot Florida day where you can sit back with a cold or frozen drink and relax. The last time I went I found an empty section and removed my shoes... with the amount of walking Disney requires I cant say enough how great this was.

Any updates on when these two older films will be closed or when the new ones will open?

As much as I missed O'Canada, I loved the Apple Seed Orchard tasting area. While not huge themeing change, it was really fun.

I believe the old films are closed right now. The new ones in World Showcase and the new one in the Land are slated to open in January for the Festival of the Arts.

Thanks for the info. We're planning a trip just before the festival because we want to ride Spaceship Earth again before it closes for the extensive renovation. Of course that date hasn't been announced yet but we are hoping it won't be until after TT reopens in February. Maybe we'll be lucky and the new films will open a week or so early. One can only hope!
