I am planning our trip this December and we are trying to think of where we want to eat breakfast our last day. That day will have a Christmas party that we will be attending so we don’t want to use our table service credit during the party so we are going to breakfast. Because of other meals during the week we narrowed it down to O’hana or chef mickeys. We have eaten dinner at Chef Mickeys but not breakfast and we have never eaten at O’hana. It will be my two girls (7 and 5) me, my wife and my parents. I am a little concerned about the family style of O’hana. Do they give you enough food? Also, is there more food choices at Chef Mickeys?

We've never done 'Ohana breakfast, but have done Chef Mickey's several times and really enjoy it. The food on the breakfast buffet has always been very good and very plentiful. As far as choices, it's pretty much every breakfast "basic". Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, Fried Potatoes, Tater Tots, Mickey Waffles, Pancakes, I believe an omelet station, Fruit, Yogurt, Pastries, Oatmeal, Cereal, and I'm sure other things I'm leaving out.

Chef Mickey's will give you a bigger bang for your 1 TS credit - a full breakfast buffet plus the Fab 5. The food is mediocre at both, IMHO, so I would go with the one with a greater food variety and more characters!

I have enjoyed both 'Ohana and Chef Mickey. For breakfast I prefer 'Ohana becuase my family enjoys a family style meal for breakfast. WE have never left hingry.

I would suggest you choose based on characters you want to meet .We love Stitch, and we really love teh Poly, so 'Ohana is always on our list.

I don't think you need to worry about leaving 'Ohana hungry. They'll give you plenty.

I'm sure you've looked at everything, but I'll just throw in that breakfast at Boma is really good too...

BTW, it's 'Ohana, not O'Hana. I think your choice should be based on which characters you would like to see. Although, I will agree with PP, that Boma has a great breakfast (but no characters.)

The advantage of Ohana's over Chef Mickey's is they bring the food to you (and will continue to bring it if you ask). I have had to do the rush thing with Chef Mickeys in the buffet lines when characters start getting close.

We prefer Ohana for breakfast over Chef Mickey's. We like that it is more relaxed since the food is brought to the table, stead of getting up and down at a buffet. We usually pay out of pocket, so the price at Ohana is better for us. We really enjoy the food.

My family and I did Ohana this past october for the first time. It was an amazing experience, one the girls still talk about. We had a late breakfast, and the atmosphere was amazing. Food was excellent as well!

They have ham now at ‘Ohana’s for breakfast, but you can apparently get bacon if you ask.

Thanks all for your comments. We have eaten at Boma for breakfast before. We are looking to stay around MK.

We slept in a little on our party day and had a late brunch at Chef Mickey's before walking over to MK for the party. It worked out really well for our family. I also enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and food at 'Ohana. I guess it just depends on how you want to schedule your day.

I personally love Ohana and the fast we dont have to get our own food at a buffet and still get characters! There is plenty of food and they will refill the platter as many times as you want. There is also a cute parade around the restaurant let by Mickey for the kids. I would pick Ohana easily.

Sorry for the mostly eaten food, but you can see what is offered!!! They will bring you more of anything you want.

I’d let the kids pick which characters they want to see, that’s really what you’re paying for. Myself, if I had never done ‘Ohana I would choose that just for the experience. If you happen to have any picky eaters then Chef Mickey’s will have much more variety. Both places are all you can eat so you won’t go hungry at either.

I go with Chef Mickeys. We have the most dreadful experience at Ohana breakfast, never again!!!

You're on the dining plan, so price is not a factor.

Both are "all you care to eat", so portion size is not a factor.

So, the deciding factors for you are:

1. Choices...'Ohana has a very limited menu. Chef Mickey's has many more available options.

2. 'Ohana is a family style, meaning your food is brought to your table. You don't have to get up. Chef Mickey's is a buffet, and you have to get your own food.

3. Characters...'Ohana has Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch. Chef Mickey's has the big 5...Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto.

I would take the 3 factors above, and rank them in order of importance to you. Then, make your decision from there.
