has anyone ever heard of nyssma?...its a new york musical judging thing that students who play instruments or sing can participate in. students pick and prepare pieces to perform in front of a judge. there are 6 different levels to pick from, 6 being the hardest. level 1-4 are judged on a 24 point basis, and level 5 and 6 are on a 100 point basis. judges score you on stuff like intonation, rythm, dynamics, scales and sightreading. different highschools host the nyssma festivals. the nyssma pieces help students get into these county, state, and coastal concerts made up of like the best student musicians. this year im doing a level 6 flute solo, a level 5 voice solo, and a level 3 flute trio with two of my friends. anyway the nyssma festival that my school is participating in is tomorrow and im really nervous!! my first performance is at 10 am, and then I don't go again till 2:30, and then 3:00 (you get about 10 minutes) im going to be there all day!! for everyone else who is doing nyssma good luck!!!
p.s wish me luck too!!!! i always mess up because i get so nervous!!
