How will I be contacted about choosing my resolution option for canceled races?

Thank you for your patience as we work through the complicated process of determining runner resolutions in this unprecedented situation. We are working to make thoughtful and measured decisions and communicate as quickly as possible in this rapidly evolving environment. We’re planning to email all runners who have registered for any canceled races (excluding the NYC Half and Brooklyn Half) by Friday, May 1, with detailed instructions about resolution options and the timeline and process for claiming them.

What are my resolution options for races I’ve entered that are now canceled?

Runners who registered for any canceled races (excluding the NYC Half, Brooklyn Half, and Queens 10K) will be able to choose one of the following three resolution options for each canceled race:

· TCS New York City Marathon 9+1 qualifier credit

To date, 14 NYRR races in 2020 have been canceled: United Airlines NYC Half, UAE Healthy Kidney 10K, Boomer’s Cystic Fibrosis Run to Breathe 4M, SHAPE & Health Women’s Half Marathon and 5.8M, Run as One 4M, Newport Fiesta 5K, Japan Run 4M, Popular Brooklyn Half, Italy Run 5M, Global Running Day 5K, Queens 10K, New York Mini 10K, Front Runners New York LGBT Pride Run 5M, and Achilles Hope & Possibility 4M.

We treat the cancellation of our events very seriously, as we know you do as well, and will continue to communicate as quickly as possible in this rapidly evolving environment. We are also focused on how these cancellations impact the NYRR Club Points series, distribution of participant shirts and medals, and other related issues, and are working through these resolutions in as thoughtful and measured a way as possible. In the days and weeks ahead, NYRR will continue to work closely with government officials regarding the ongoing status of scheduled in-person events and programs, with the possibility of additional cancellations in the future.

The latest updates on NYRR events, group training, and community programming can be found at nyrr.org.
