Called MS at 9:15am and made reservations for 12/28/08 thru 1/-2/09 at OKW 1-bedroom. It our 4th xmas week in a row, but last 3 we were there for the Christmas, but this time we are doing NYE. We had no problem getting the reservation and, as usual, I did not have to do a day-by-day calling to get it-just waited until I could book the whole stay. I have never done day-to-day for any dvc reservation(member since 1994), although I know others always do this. CM at MS was wonderful and wait time was about 6 minutes. Love the ability to call on Saturday. Now the count-down to ADRs-especially NYE. We have been the WDW for NYE twice, once we ate dinner at Teppanyaki and the other at Brown Derby. We avoid MK that day..I think we'll keep that same strategy. Hope to see some of you there!

I called at 9:45 and had no wait this morning. Booked an OKW two bedroom for Dec 28, five nights.

We'll be there too with the same dates. We are on a waitlist for the 30th for a grand villa though so we may have to move for one night. We are taking dh's mom, brother, and sister so it will be our first time in the grand villa. I think we will avoid MK as well for NYE.

We will see you there. There will be twelve of us. We were lucky enough to get a Grand Villa. I am glad that the stress is over until six months out. This will be our first time during Christmas time period. I hear it is wonderful.

We will be there also got a 2 bedroom @ SSR for the same dates, I know it will be packed but wanted the kids to see Disney @ that time of year with all the holiday things. My oldest will turn 17 next year and it is not as cool to go on vacation with mom & dad anymore.

Have you ever stayed in a grand villa before? We are looking forward to it even if we have to move and come back in the middle of our stay. Still hoping for the waitlist to open up that one day though.:)The Christmas period is beautiful.

Friends of ours stayed in GV one xmas when we were there (2004, I think) and it was in building 64, I think..its the one with the elevator. It had a nice golf view and the whole villa is beautiful. there are 2 bedroom and 2 baths upstairs that have 2 beds in each..there is an open catwalk that looks down onto kitchen and dining room. first floor has huge dining room table and kitchen and living room, and king master. We have never stayed in one (only 1 or 2 bedroom), but if we had the numbers in our party it would be great!

The feedback I've always gotten has been that you HAVE to book day-by-day at Christmas and New Year's or you have very little chance of getting what you want.

Is this all dependent on what resort you're trying to get?

I just booked our last night at BCV for 12/20 - 1/3 doing it day-by-day (sure glad THAT's over :thumbsup2 )

It certainly is a bit stressful making that call every morning, not knowing if you're going to get what you want!

I'm pretty excited about spending the holidays down there! Although I'm sure I'm spoiled by our last trip...Jan 9 - 19th with very small crowds! But we're prepared to deal with it :)

As I said before, I have never done day-by-day reservations and we have been to OKW for the last 3 years for xmas week. I am sure some require it.-VWL for xmas for instance. Others would say BWV if you want a standard view room, but other than that.. I continue to make the reservation when I can do the whole stay....even at xmas and summer.

I am still doing day by day at VWL, one more day to go-:cool1::cool1:So far no real problem, but I call early. Don't want to take any chances. DH would have liked to have waited and called on the last day, but I would have been in such a twist by then:lmao:. We have always gone earlier in the month so this will be a new experience for us with the crowds. It looks like it slows after the 1st..anyone know if that is the case?

I would not expect it to slow until the weekend or after the weekend. I would think most schools would not start again until the Monday after New Year's Day.

We have done a Grand Villa at HH and a Beach cottage at Vero but never at WDW. We will be doing a Grand Villa in June at AKV. We can not wait. I hope everything works out for you. I know that no matters what happens you will have a wonderful time spending it at WDW.

Thanks..oh well. Booked the last day today. We will be there no matter what the crowds are like. Can't wait!:cool1:

We have made reservations for BCV for new years. This will be our first trip going down at this time of year and can't wait to see Disney all decorated.
