Well, I'll be paying a ridiculous cover charge for a bar that's usually free, fighting off annoying crowds, waiting an hour outside to get a cab, and then complaining in the morning that I have to go to dinner later that day with my family. (I promised some people I'd go with them)

Sounds fun, huh?

I have to be on my way to Ohare Airport around 630-700 on 1/1 to my catch my 9 am Las Vegas flight so I will probably call it a night right after midnight.

My dh's band is playing a hotel ballroom, so the kids are going to grandma's to stay the night and we are staying at the hotel after he is done playing. and i won't be up until noon.LOL

Hmmmmm.....it's a toss up! We normally go to bed the same time as any other night. This year, we have been invited to a dull party. We could forego the dull and go to any one of party type activities in town this year.....what to do....what to do!!

Hmmm let's see. Put on some stupid NYE show, have a few cosmos, some munchies, Happy New Year, go to bed. The end!

Grab the kids with their sleeping bags, and head next door to our friend's house. The kids will have a slumber party, and the 4 of us adults will have some munchies, play poker, and just hang out (really no different than any other time we all hang out). Carry the kids back home after midnight, and resume life as usual on 1/1.

Home. Crab cakes, good wine, chocolate fondue-kids will conk out at 10pm.

We'll probably stand out in our driveway and watch the neighbors set off fireworks. Then again, this year I can actually get to the lawn chairs!

But seriously, we stay home, it's a real pain here to get around on NYE due to all the police checkpoints you'd have to wait through!

We are having a last minute get together. We got together with 14 of the neighbors and ended up inviting them all over NYE! We get them half the night then we go to another house for the second half.
