NYE Western Cruise 2008 - New Thread

not so good of a day here

last night Thumper jumped out of Kara's arms and landed funny

this morning he wasn't moving his back half - after visit to vet's Thumper is hopping around in bunny heaven

poor guy

back to watching swimming

The vet said usually they land on their feet but sometimes they 'panic' and twist and such going down - Kara said that was how it was - one seconed he was all nice and calm in arms and next second he was going down and she was trying to catch him

She was pretty down yesterday - but cheered up with Michael's win and Dana's performance last night - but this morning teared up again seeing empty cage and such - and not being woken by 'thumping' coming from cage - he would thump when it was time for breakfast

she wants another bunny - but we haven't had time to go look - but the cage is all cleaned out and ready to go - I asked if she wanted bunny or another pair of guinea pigs - she said bunny this time - we shall see

I can join the swimmers in the weight room during their weight training -the coach said come on in, but the swimmers get choice of machines first - I am fine with that - but haven't been able to do anything all summer due to that stupid cyst - which is fianlly healing - and hopefully the infection is all gone now - first day I haven't had a bandage on it for like 6 weeks now

ehhhh, ok. we've had a lot of un expected expenses come up due to our rental house being vacated. and I lost my one client last week. that is good news bad news. I didn't like the work, and I'm going to look back at school to finish up my degree and try to find some happiness in a work environment. I signed off on mom's house last week, so the money should hit the bank end of this week. I'm still in a funk about going or not. I know mom would like it, but it's alot of work with her to travel. blah blah blah...

Marla, beautiful bunny. Again sorry for the loss.

Artie, I'm so glad you checked in! I was thinking about you and Claudia today. Well, the worst is over, so let the healing begin. Soon it'll all be just a memory.

I have my 13 year old niece Chloe here for 2 weeks. Between me and Louise, Chloe is going to be a very pampered young lady, with shopping, hair salons, nail salons, lunches out...lots of girly fun.

We're getting ready to watch Michael Phelps win some Gold tonight.

Hi Rus! Have you seen our cruise website? Go to the first page of this thread, and click on our website link. There's some info there.

I get information from past Navigators, which are detail the ship's daily activities. Give me a sec, I'll post a link. Also, we plan for the evenings/dinners on the ship according to "what" night it is, eg Formal Night, Pirate Night, etc. That info is on our website.

Going to look for the Navigator's now.

Hi all....well I did my 18 miles yesterday at the Relay for Life event in Watsonville - didn't get to start till 11ish, so did majority of the walking in the heat - altho Wats isn't anywhere as hot as gilroy....but was warm never the less...took me from 11 to 4:20ish with just a couple of breaks....decided to get up at 2:30 today & go back over to Wats to walk in the dark with those who had the night shift..so i did my 15 miles from 3:30 to 7:20...was home by 8 am - had the rest of the day to do like 'nothing'....need that once in awhile

As long as Ryan gets his diving credentials, he & Rus are supposed to a diving excursion in Grand Cayman while Chel & I walk the shops....i mean walk the town

Rus...talked to Chel last wkend about making final pmt - think i'll be having lunch with Cynthia this week, and thought Chel could go along & we can get that all taken care of - you can too if you'd like & are available - (probably thurs or fri) and either at Phils' or Whole Enchilada. DCL should also be sending us all a "pre-planning" package pretty soon with all the excursion info & other info...i have the navigators for the Western from our last cruise, but sounds like some things will get changed around some to accomodate NYE...

Brenda, CONGRATULATIONS on such a fantastic start at the Relay for Life event. Walking 18 miles and then 15 in the middle of the night? Crazy AWESOME!
