NYE sitters

So, DH and I decided last night to go to a NYE party we were invited to. One of our sitters is already busy--she was sitting last night so we checked. So, this morning, I call the girl who we usually have and is our kids' first choice. She wants to let me know on the 19th. Uhhhh, Hello??? I actually want to go to the party and if you don't tell me until the 19th, how on earth am I going to find someone at that point.

How far ahead do you look for a sitter if you are going out NYE?

I can't get anyone either. I started looking around thanksgiving. Everyone has a party to go to. It's not that they have other jobs, they just have other plans.

I decided to let my older DD have a friend to sleep over (13 yo) and they can both watch the 7 yr old.
