NYE Fireworks elsewhere?

Since we are flying in New Years Eve morning and won't be able to get to the park before it fills to capacity, could we watch from a resort (Contemporary, or Fort Wilderness)? Any suggestions? Or is it going to be chaotic trying to do that as well? We are staying at POR and from what I've read you can't see any fireworks from there. Could we take the boat to Downtown Disney and watch any from there?

Be sure you try the park 1st, if that's your 1st preference. Maybe some pixie dust will land on you!

If that's a no-go, I would recommend the beach from the Poly. Do some checking w/ staff to find out if they can tell you where the audio might be working.

I will be there the same day....we come in on the 1st every year. If you cannot get to see the fireworks, you can still take part in a NYE type party at the resorts. They all have something special.

You fly in New Years Day every year? How is that week with crowds?
I am thinking now about cancelling NYE and going in New Years Day but I hate to lose time at the parks. I was even thinking of just going NYE so we could get up and hit the parks early. I just talked to a friend and she was there NYE and said it is pure chaos. I was so excited to go NYE but I can't handle chaos with a three kids 11, 8 and 3.
