NYE Dinner (non park)

Hi! We're going over NY's again (have done it before so we know about crowds) and we're looking for a TS not in the parks for dinner. We'll be with our DS 9 and DD 6. We've done Chef Mickey's and Raglan Road before. We might do RR again--was a lot of fun, but DTD was CRAZY busy. Has anyone been to a resort dinner that night that felt fun (a non signature). We'd like someplace that feels like it's in the middle of things--but not crazy busy--if that's possible! I thought more of the resorts would have activities that night, but it doesn't sound like it (we'll be at POFQ). THanks!

We spent NYE at dolphin last year after 4 nights at OKW(free on starwood points(, so we made adr at Kouzinna at BW for dinner. We toured DHS in am and then headed back to resort to relax watch some football then hit the activities at BW. Music and other outdoor stuff. Dinner was great at Kouzinna and then we watched both midnite fireworks at Epcot and DHS from outside the Dolphin (great views) and were back in our room before most folks hit the trams at the parks..really nice NYE.

I would look to the restaurants at the Swan/dolphin. They have great chefs/menus over every holiday...family oriented. Enjoy!

They always have a NYE special at the California Grill. Just dump the kids in one of the Kids Clubs.

I think BW is a great idea--it'll be festive but not out of control--though dumping the kids in a club sounds good, too!

BW area is alot of fun, music outdoor activities, etc. And great views of the 2 midnite fireworks from the area (Epcot and DHS). We are leaving 12/30 this year and will miss NYE at wdw (we will be at HHI),but I would definitely do the same routine next time we hit NYE!

PS there was a HUGE stand-by line at ESPN club for those without the elusive NYE ADR! but they had outdoor TV to watch bowl games and other activities later. I really felt for the families with kids waiting 60+ minutes to eat at ESPN!

Picky, picky, picky!

And I thought that it was only about $250++.

I do know that on 12/31/99 it was $1,000 pp.

A lot of folks balk at spending over $800 per couple to see some fireworks... personally if I'm ever down there over New Years, which I never have been, I might consider it since I like their food and I'm only paying for one person.
