NYE Crowd Question

Just booked our flight for our Cali Christmas trip.

We're gonna be starting in San Fran and driving down the coast. My initial plan is to hit Disneyland on 12/28 and 12/29, then LA on 12/30, 12/31. I know this means going south then driving north, so my question is: will the crowds be THAT DIFFERENT on 12/28 and 12/29 than 12/30 and 12/31? We've been to Disney World every year the past 10 years for Christmas/NYE and know how bad MK gets. We avoid it at all costs.

With it being our first time at DL we wanna make the most of it, but understand that we need to temper our expectations.

In 2017 we went 12/26-12-31. Honestly all those days are packed. Yes there might be a difference in crowds but if you have MP then you will be fine. We have gone during that Christmas/New years week for 4 years and it is all relatively the same. We always get there at rope drop or use EMH and have always done all the attractions we wanted to and all with a wait time of less than 30 min.
