NYE CR TPV?

We are surprising the kids with wdw and a cruise 12/30-1/8. Right now I'm booked at WL 12/30-1/5 with some points pending at Poly (likely won't happen). I'm trying to figure out where the best location to stay would be on December 30 and 31st. We really want to do WL no mater what but I'm thinking how awesome would CR TPV rooms be for watching fireworks on NYE? Kids are younger so staying out late is hard for them.

Anyone done this in a regular room and watched from the deck?

Does CL there stay open on nYE or pipe music in?

Or should I just save my money keep my reservation as is and go somewhere on property to watch where I can get the music piped in?

Did this on CL a coupla years back. One of the best views in the park (second only to Polynesian on the beach!) The music is piped into the CL lounge AND... To all the rooms via a TV channel! So as long as you have a TPV room you'll be able to hear the music with the fireworks. (Although you'll catch some of the music from the park AND they have speakers play the music in the lagoon too).

While the CL was nice (and the champagne was flowing) I'd say get a regular TPV room!

That's a game changer on the music on TV!!!! Oddly wdw reservations won't let me book TPV 12/30-1/1. I can book it 1/29-2/1 or 1/30 and 1/31 separately. They've blocked 2 night res apparently. I'll have to get creative with that. I did their CL for a couple nights last year and it was fine...by just fine. CL to me has lost a little of its value when I compare it to what you get at the USO resort CLs. So thanks for that! Save me a little on it!
