We are doing HDDR on NYE. Plan on going from PORS to MK to catch the boat.

If MK is closed to capacity which I assume it will be around the time we are traveling are there going to be buses going to and from the resorts and MK?

I'm assuming so as people may just be going to other resorts for dinner. Just wanted to confirm.

If the park is at Level 4 closure, as far as I know, the buses will not go there at all.

If that is the case what would be the other options of getting to HDDR? Another park and take the bus?

That is an option.

There is a boat that goes between Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness and Contemporary. We stay at WL often, and this boat is a great way to get to HDDR.

I really think that even if MK is close to capacity closing, there would have to be buses still running to get those crowds out and back to their resorts. You just couldn't actually enter MK. Otherwise, they'd be stranding an awful lot of people at MK.

If MK is closed due to regular park closing time or due to capacity, then after HDDR there are buses that go directly to resorts. So at least that trip will be question-free.

Wouldn't they have to, to get at least some of the crowd out of there? :confused3

That's a good point that I hadn't considered. But they certainly wouldn't take people on the bus there, would they? I'm going by things I have seen posted about the different things that occur during the various stages of closure and I'm pretty certain one always says something like "Disney transportation stops going to that location" or something similar. Or about people that were on the bus going to a park only to learn part way there that it was closed and were taken elsewhere.

Where's our DIS bus drivers when you need them?

Buses leaving the park still run. Most buses do not do a simple back and forth between one resort and one park, and even if they did, the destination sign as it pulls into the resort would not show the name of the park closed to capacity.

Buses do take guests to a closed park including Magic Kingdom (upon request) to get a car from the parking lot.

I am guessing that a park closure denying resort guests is announced far enough in advance so buses already en route can complete the trip and those guests aboard would be admitted.
