NYE anyone?

Okay.. so.. I just took the plunge and booked for NYE again this year! I had such a great time last year.... I figured I would do it again!

I am doing the 1/2 Marathon the following Sat... and just figured I would come in for NYE as well! Can't believe I got reservations so easily at this late time.. but...room are available!

So? Anyone else going to be there?

Yup, we will be there. We are checking in to SSR on 12/31 and checking out on 1/5. However, we do not yet have airfare so depending on that, we could check in earlier.... right now it's still slightly up in the air... but we at least have hotel ressies!

Cool! I couldn't get a DVC ressie to save my life! LOL!! I am on the waiting list for any of them! But.. I do have back-ups at CSR for 12/30 & 12/31 and then POP 1/1-1/8. So... I have somewhere to sleep as well!! LOL!!

We were debating between OCT (MNSSHP/F&W) and NYE... couldn't decide on one so we are gonna do both...

Of course the consequence of us doing both is that after the NYE trip we probably won't go back again until Oct 2007...

Looking forward to the gynormous crowds!

I am so excited I just called today and got a AAA discount on the 2nd half of my reservation! Saved about $200!! Whoo Hooo!!!

Last year, I was expecting the holidays to be much, much worse! MGM on NYE proved to be quite manageable, dare I say it, even quiet until mid-afternoon! Had a nice long dinner at Brown Derby Champagne, dahhhling!

Adam and I made reservations to stay at the Marriott World Center for Saturday and Sunday nights. On site hotels are a little steep pricewise at the moment, and we got a really great deal at the Marriott.

I got Coronado for 412 for the 2 nights.. 30th & 31st... I am planning on spending NYE itself at the Magic Kingdom. I was there last year and it was just spectacular... crowded... sure! But it was very exciting.

I'm not quite sure what we are going to be doing on NYE... I haven't gotten airfare yet, but I'm hoping to get the earlier flight which would put us in Orlando mid-day. At that point we'll head over to SSR to check-in and either head over to MK for the evening, or we'll hang out around DTD and do Pleasure Island for NYE.

We'll see, haven't gotten quite that far in the planning process. Actually, so far all I've done is scheduled the hotel ressies and dinner at V&A (on 1/2/07).

Just decided on going down as well and we are booking this week for a downtown disney hotel, since disney resorts seem to be sold out. I turn 23 on NYE and it'll be mine and steve's first vacation together so i'm SO EXCITED!!!!! already got my vacation approved at work!

They aren't sold out... keep checking... POR and POFQ are both available.. as well as Carribean Beach... and Coronado Springs... The Deluxes also have some availability... but .... pretty steep!! LOL!!

Go onto the website and plug your dates in again.. Just make sure you book 2 separate ressies ... High Value season ends on the 31s.. and value starts on Jan 1st! Very different prices!!!

I'm trying to decide where to eat for NYE/my birthday. I'm thinking the California Grill!

What is everyone doing at night? I think we're going to do PI since we're both young but we wanted to do a gay club/bar so we might wander into Orlando.

I normally work early, so I'd love to maybe hang out with some DISers for NYE. PI has a special ticket event every year for NYE, and I think it's like $120. I'll either go out to a club or stay home most likely, unless someone is interested in something else

My friend who's doing the college program now says its 90. Seems a bit steep though since drinks there are pretty pricey.

LOL I just checked, $94 and change after tax. I forgot that the island is open-access now so they dont have all the outside entertainment they used to. Must be why it's cheaper this year.

I'd still rather the $20 or so for Pulse, Parliment House, Southern Nights, or similar
