Dh has to be in NYC for Thanksgiving. He's a sportswriter covering college basketball and they play on Wednesday and Friday. So his flight, his food and 3 nights hotel will be paid for. We're thinking of taking DS who will be almost 5. He'd love the plane, the trains, the tall buildings, etc. We thought we could try to see the parade and do the typical tourist stuff like go to FAO Schwartz. Is this a good idea? We've been before at this time of year but it wasnt with a child. Is the parade just a nightmare to try and see with a child - will we even be able to get close enough? Is it safe? Any advice? The other option is to go the weekend before Christmas but DH's company will only be paying for one night hotel then.

hey you stole our plans
