NYC Cruises 2018 - embarkation time

Hi - anyone who has been on the cruises out of NYC these past weeks, how are things at the port for embarkation? What time does the line open, how busy are they - I read in previous years they were very packed and from memory when we sailed out of NYC in 2012 it was very busy when we arrived. Thanks.

Just got back today. We arrived at the terminal at 11am (our port arrival time). There were no lines. Walked right up to an agent to check in. Took a picture with Mickey and were in cabanas at 11:45am

So did boarding already happen with the majority of guests already onboard?

We also just got back today. We arrived at NYC port about 11AM, and were checked in thru security after I parked the car around 1130-45ish. Crowds were picking up but not awful, and were were in group #8. I believe were were on the ship around 1220? Very good transition and was fantastic driving in from Massachusetts in about 3 1/2 hrs. Going home was equally as good, even faster getting off the ship. Can't wait to go back!

No we did have to wait about 10 minutes to board after the Mickey picture. Boarding started around 11:30. we were boarding group #3. I was just very surprised how efficient check in was. We even got both kids’ Mickey bands (in the past it was another desk). This was our 9th cruise and every time before I have waited in a long line to check in (including previous NY cruises).

I purposely looked at my watch because this question comes up frequently, and this was our 5th time cruising from NYC.

We were inside the terminal at around 10:15 am. The security line was already wrapping in the queue. Security opened at 10:30 am and moved pretty quickly. We are platinum and were able to check in with no wait. Boarding for group 1 started at 11:45 am.

Just out of curiosity, what is the earliest PAT available for New York cruises?

Ours for this upcoming week was 11am. I don't think I've seen any earlier for NYC... I could be wrong though.

Just got back from the Nov 3rd NY cruise. Our port arrival time was 11:30am. We arrived a little past 10:15am. Was thru security (no line at all) and checked in just after 10:30am. Got a boarding number of #7. They started boarding a little after 11:45am. Was on the ship by 12:30.

7:00am was express walk off with all your luggage.

We did express walk off and went down at 6:45 with the intent of hanging out before the announcement and be first in line. However the ship was already cleared and we walked right off. If you have to do express to make it to work/school I recommend getting there a little earlier than 7.
