NY EZ pass with Alamo

Hi, we will be bringing our NY EZ pass to Florida in a few weeks. When we pick up the car at Punta Gorda airport, we have to go to the counter-no skipping the line at that airport like MCO. Will I be able to ask them about using my EZ Pass and not their system? I've seen a few posts about going to the Alamo app to do, but just wondering if I mention it to the agent, they could take care of it?

Unless something has recently changed NY EZPASS website tells us NOT to add a rental car.

Pass needs to be mounted on the windshield. Bring extra velcro or a suction cup mount. Holding the pass up will sometimes work

Which doesn't make any sense. If the toll plaza was unable to read the E-ZPass transponder for any reason, they toll agency should use the license plate to try and match to an E-ZPass account. If you don't (temporarily) add the rental cars license plate to your account, the toll charge will go back to the rental agency and then be subject to the rental agencies toll fees.

Do you have a link? It absolutely wasn't the policy earlier this year.

You are instructed to mount your EZ PASS to the rental cars windshield.

It appears NY Ezpass, over the last month may be allowing a temporary change. Web access earlier this year told us NOT to add rental cars

In January you were told not to add a rental car to NY Ezpass. Lynnfitz is correct, NY EZPASS recently gave you the option of adding a rental BUT
You need the license plate number. It takes to to 48 hours to populate through the system. Toll by plate during that time may be billed to the rental agencies account.

MAKE SURE YOU PROPERLY MOUNT THE TRANSPONDER TO THE WINDSHIELD

We are actually on the west coast prior to Disney, so no tolls there. (We've been to the area before) It will give us time to put the rental on the NY EZ pass sight-we bought a holder on Amazon that holds the EZ Pass and mounts to the windshield.

You can also use velcro. It is easy to remove the velcro from the rental vehicle with your finger nails

It is interesting all the different states' methods. Our PA EZ Pass has suction cups. My sister was complaining their Illinois pass is now a window sticker and has not been reading correctly.
