I'm in Barcelona now, waiting for the Disney Magic transatlantic cruise tomorrow, and I wanted to share how we traveled to NY and stored our luggage, before our late night flight out of JFK, and save some money. We flew in to LGA. I bought a metro card at the airport (you will see a machine before you exit the airport). Buy a new card ($1 fee added on), and pick the amount of cash you want to add to the card. It's only $2.75 to get to Times Square. (Per person) Up to 4 people can use the same metro card. You get a 5% bonus when you add $5.50 or more to the card. Walk outside, and look for the Q70 bus. (Laguardia Link) There is a metro ticket machine at the bus stop. Press the start button and Insert your metro card that you just bought, and a ticket will come out. Save that ticket for the bus ride. There are some luggage racks on the bus. It may stop at some more terminals. You want to get off at Jackson Heights, which is the 1st stop. We used our metrocard in the "turnstiles", and made our way down to the platform. (When the card comes out, hand it to the next person in your party) We took the subway to 50th street station. We walked about 2 blocks to Vertoe, and left our luggage there. $6.75 per piece. If you have 5, they give you one for free. We left our luggage there, and explored NY for about 5 hours. This Vertoe location is 1 block from Times Square. I'll add some information for our trip to JFK later.....jonathan

The guy at the Vertoe luggage storage had given me a "coin", that had a number on one side, and the word Vertoe on the other. I returned that when we got our luggage, and we walked back to the 50th street station, which was across the street from where we arrived, because we were now going uptown (Queens). Once on the subway, there is an indicator "light" that lets you know the next stop. Going to JFK, you want to take the one that has Jamaica-JFK AirTrain. Once you get off at that stop, look for airTrain signs. It's a very short walk. Before boarding the airTrain, you must insert your metrocard and pay the $5 JFK AirTrain card fee. ($2.75 subway ride + $5 AirTrain ride) Go thru the turnstile after swiping your metro card, and board the train. Listen for your terminal number to be called. We took the E train on both trips, because it was closest to Vertoe.

I live in NY and can't figure out the subway system.....but I was just in Barcelona last week and had no problem with their Metro system...rode it all over the city. Hope you bought the T10 ticket for Barcelona as it drops the price to 1 euro per ticket and can be used for 10 people. We had 8 in our group and just kept passing the ticket back to each other. We LOVED Barcelona!!!

Have fun on the TA....I did it from Barcelona last September!!!
