Since you live out of state, then the Disney club might be good for you for discounts. Look at what discounts are available through DClub that you cold use (it's pretty much the same year to year, so you can use last Jan's discounts to predict next years).

See if those discounts on rooms, tickets, dining, shopping, etc add up for you to justify the cost of the DClub. I have a card and use it for Disney Store and Marketplace shopping all the time and it really helps. Between that and my Annual Pass I can get lots of good discounts that justify having the cards.

If you figure out the discounts you'd use and you can get your money's worth, than yeah, get the DClub card.

It depends which resort you are going to be staying at in January. If you are gonig to stay at the All Stars resort, you will get a really good rate.

If the rates stay the same it would be $61.60 per night before tax. That's a good rate for All Stars.

You still save 20% in the value season. You also get 10% off at the HUGE disney store in Downtwon Disney. I usually buy very little in the parks and then buy everything at the store in Downtown disney and get 10% off.

You also get 5% off tickets. Plus 10% off at disney stores at home. It can all add up.

From what I have read, according to the time that you are going, and which resorts you are staying at, you will get from 10%-20% off of your room rates, 5% off of tickets, there are some places that honor discounts for meals (that info will come when you receive your card), and 10% off of purchases above $25 at DTD--World of Disney...and possibly other shops in DTD, as well. You may also use your card for a 10% off select merchandise in the Disney Store, Disney Store online and the Disney Catalog. The savings really can add up. You will recoup your $39.95 really quickly and save even more! If I were you, I would get it and make those ressies as soon as it comes in the mail. You can order it online, too!
