More meal questions.....sorry:goodvibes

My son is diabetic and will need to count carbs to adjust his insulin. Is there a site etc. I can use to get the nutritional info for the main courses? Do you think this would be available at the various restaurants? I certainly am not going to limit him to what he can eat (that would be torture), but I'm hoping we can get close with the insulin levels to match the meals.

And one more....there are cocktails listed on the menus. Are these specific drinks included? I know drinks at the bar are extra, but I didn't know if these were in a different category. think:dance3:

I don't think they have such a thing on DCL. AFAIK, you'll have to use your best judgment and experience in this.

The alcoholic drinks listed on the MDR menus do have a cost. All alcoholic drinks onboard cost.

Only included drinks onboard are sodas at meals and from the drink stations, milk, coffee (regular, not specialty), tea (hot and cold), water, hot chocolate.

We have taken our Type 1 DD on Disney cruises. No, DCL will not provide any carb information. Half the time, the servers will just look at you kind of funny when you ask. We just used The Calorie King book and did our best WAGs (wild a**guesses) while on board. Not sure how old your son is, but DCL serves a lot of same food that kids like to each when not on the ship. So you should be familiar with the carb counts of those foods. Just remember to check BG more often.

Thank you! My son is 16 and loves to try new foods all the time! We are so used to using apps for finding carbs, so we'll need to rely on the book! DCL seems so accommodating, so it was wishful thinking they'd make it easy LOL. This will definitely be a challenge...having him faced with "free" food 24/7! Thank you so much for sharing:thumbsup2

I know, right? That was the toughest thing for me, our DD having 24/7 access to ice cream! With all the extra activity on board and in port, his BGs will probably be lower and by the end of the cruise, you'll have the carbs down so you're ready for your next cruise! ;)
