Here is whats going on, I am 30, have hypothyroidism (controlled normal tsh) and I am on BCP (I am not pregnant) I went to see my PCP and she told me to take multivitamins and sent me to the dermatologist who suggested some really expensive face cream. Hoping someone has some suggestions! I feel like they are just treating a few symptoms but not trying to figure out the PROBLEM that could be causing all of this. It started in June. You know how you just know something isnt right? Well I have been sort of ignoring that until this morning when I saw my mom (havent seen her in a while) and she said "Wow you lookm awful whats wrong with you" so now I know I am not imagining it.....

-Irregular menses, and now Melasma (brown spots around my eyes and above my lip, looks awful)

-Hair falling out in clumps, really alarming how thin it is getting

-hot and cold flashes, my temperature is never normal like people around me

-Super dry skin

-Really thirsty (maybe just due to the hot flashes)

-no appetite, lost 22 lbs (I was trying to eat healthy but I have never lost wt this quickly before, not being hungry really helps with the diet)

any ideas or suggestions? I REALLY dont want to lose any more hair, it really looks terrible.

How long since your last TSH test? It seems like something is off with your hormones perhaps. I would prob suggest trying a new Dr.

Go see your ob/gyn to have your hormone levels checked. Except for the weight loss, you have some symptoms of PCOS....then again except for something you have the symptoms of something else (just fill in the blanks).

Sorry you are having such a hard time..

Not a doctor or nurse, but you need to insist on someone taking a fresh look at your case and look at all your symptoms together to try to come up with a comprehensive diagnosis.

I am thinking PCOS, too, but BCP generally can control it.

Is your temperature high?

I am wondering about Lupus.

Maybe your thyroid levels are not quite right. When is the last time you saw your endocrinologist?

Hope you are feeling better, soon.

The first 2 things that come to my mind are PCOS or a screwy thyroid.

If you don't see an endocrinologist, I would suggest you do.
