My nephew will still be on formula when we go to Disney next month, and my sister was wondering if the Baby Stations sell Nursery Water there? Or do they sell water by the gallon anywhere in the parks or resorts? Bottled water is so expensive and I know she doesnt want to bring a gallon or two in her suitcase!

Nursery water they dont have. Beechnut formula water sell by the litre bottle and 1 bottle is 4$. Very Very expensive!!!

Has she thought of using the ready to use liquid formulas? That might be an easy option for her.

Another idea is to get a water bottle with a filter and use that so she can fill up throughout the park, and then squeeze it into the bottle when needed. We got 2 at a camping store and used them last time our whole week. I think they were like $15 each-but considering how hot it is when we go and how much we drink it is totally worth it!

That is close enough to Nursery Water I would think. That is so expensive though!

The ready to feed would just take up so much space in her suitcase. She normally uses the ready to feed though.

That is a really good idea about the water bottle and filter though. I used to have one of those. I think I will suggest this to her. Thank you!

The ready made liquid formulas can be harder since they have to be refrigerated at all times and then heated for use. I was happy when DS was able to use powder formula as it is so much easier for traveling.

Have you considered using a food delivery service? There's greengocer.com and wegoshop.com. You can order any baby supplies you may need and then have them delivered directly to your hotel. wegoshop may be better as they go out a purchase specific items on your list. greengrocer is an internet service and you are limited to what they have listed (though it is a large amount). There is a delivery charge, but well worth it compared to buying the items at the park.

If you're driving or taking car service from airport to resort (not taking ME) you can stop at a local grocery store and pickup the water on your way to the park.

I am using wegoshop to order items for my son.

Be sure to order about 3 weeks in advance of your arrival to assure you get the delivery date you want.

Good luck!

Thanks! That is very helpful! I will be looking into both of those websites listed. We are taking ME to the resort, so stopping would be out of the question!

I can just see that going over well - LOL - Can you guys wait a few minutes? I have to pick some stuff up at the store! :rotfl:

Yea, I don't think the bus driver will be too thrilled with a stop, plus the other passengers may throw you off the bus. It's bad enough when you have to stop at other resorts before you get to yours on ME!!

With luggage amount and weight restirctions I figure the delivery service will be good as you can order diapers, formula, snacks and food and don't have to worry about packing it all and going above the weight limit.

Plus we're also ordering water and soda - we're going in Sept. and it will be hot! I don't want to waste my snack credits on bottles of water or pay over $2 for a bottle. I'd ratehr use them for something good like Mickey Ice Cream bars!

I HAVE to make my order with wegoshop tonight. Got busy over the weekend and didn't get the chance. We're leaving in less than 4 weeks!

You don't say how old your nephew is but after 6 months you can use just tap water. We did when we first took our dd to WDW at 8 months. I took a small travel kettle and boiled it in the hotel room and filled up the bottles needed for the day. I had a powder dispenser and just added the formula to the bottle when needed.

You can order the ready to feed by the case from the manufacturer and just have it shipped to herself at the resort.

Both Costco and Staples will ship bottled water to the hotel. You should order it about 5 days before you are going to arrive. I am a Costco member and for a case of 24 1/2 liter bottles it's $6.97 including delivery. I believe Staples costs a little more but you don't need a membership.

My son was 7 months when we went last year. I ended up buying a couple of 1 litre bottles of Disani or Aquafina. They aren't to badly priced and don't take up to much room in the luggage.

My kids drank formula made from tap water since birth - the pediatrician said it was fine, and fine to just wash the bottles and nipples, no need for sterile. I've never heard the term nursery water. :confused3

Same here. DS (9) and DD (4) both had their formula mixed with plain old tap water from day 1.

I asked my pediatrician about the nursery water and he said it was a big crock.

Before 6 months I only put the tap water through a filter jug. My health visitor advised me against bottled water as it doesn't have the correct electrolyte balance for babies.

mine did too, all 3 of them. when i asked my dr about nersury water she said if i wanted to use that i would ahve to give my kids flouride drops, but if i used tap water i could skip the drops. sounded good to me.
but, it depends where you live, not everywhere has safe to drink water.

orlandos water supply is perfectly safe to drink from.

Nursery water has added fluoride. My Dr. said regular tap water is fine, unless you have a water softener, then you need to have water with the added fluoride. Babies r us, sells Nursery water 9 0z bottles in cases, just like other bottled water. Similac also has individual 8 oz bottles that you just put a ring and nipple on and you are ready to go (no need to keep in fridge or heat up). We used both this summer and both worked great for travel.

When mine were on formula, we just bought regular bottled water. They could do without the added fluoride for one week.

When my youngest DS was on formula, I had ready-to-feed single serve nursette bottles shipped directly from Enfamil to the resort.

As for using powder and bottled water vs tap water, could the tap water possibly already have flouride in it? I know it does in my city. Even if it didn't, a week without fluoride wouldn't be the end of the world. But now that I think of it, WDW tap water always tastes terrible to me so I think I would just use regular old bottled water if I were using powdered formula.

At the Baby's r Us where I live, I saw Nursery water bottled in 6 packs! I had never seen those before! That that was the coolest thing! I just skimmed through the postings, but have you considered shipping the water ahead and having it there when you arrive?
