Nursery Decorating Help Needed.....Bambi

Our 2nd DD is due in 2 months and we (DD, DH & I) decided on a Bambi Theme for the nursery.

This is the crib bedding set we got, but there are no accessories available to go with it.

I did find the wall border, but I need some ideas for the walls.

I am getting letters that spell out the baby's name and hanging on the wall, but any ideas where I can find some Bambi & Thumper? We may go with butterfly's also, which will make it more girly.

Any suggestions or ideas????

So cute! Have you checked wallies.com? I got my big girls some ballerina wallies, my baby's room is Suzy's Zoo and I was able to get her a giant wallie mural of the Suzy's gang from there and for our Mary Engelbreit playroom some "Mary" windows wallies. In case you don't know, wallies are cut outs in all sizes ranging from small (for furniture accents) to giant wall murals that you soak in water and they stick to the wall just like wallpaper. Everyone who sees mine, thinks I had a muralist come in and paint them! Adorable and oh so cheap compared to actually paying a muralist. I haven't checked their site in a year or so, but seem to remember something Disney. It's worth a shot! Good luck.

I searched bambi wall on ebay and found some neat stuff. I dont know if you mind shopping on ebay or not. I am sure you can find other bambi stuff on ebay as well.

Are you (or anyone you know) artistic? I ask b/c we had a friend paint the sky with clouds on the ceiling (it's really, really cool), and some grass, trees (complete with nests and birds), butterflies, birds on the walls for the nursery. Just a thought.

See if you can hire an art student at a local college to come and paint murals on the walls...then you can have exactly what you want

Oh! I love those wall hangings DaisyDuck5 found on ebay. I have those in Suzy's Zoo and they are so cute on the wall and take up a lot of space if you spread them out. Plus, they're only going for $4.99 now. I'd bid on that for sure. Good luck!

the only advice i can offer is to think carefully before doing a wall mural. the time and money may not be worth it for something you will likely want to change within a couple of years. also if you have any intention of selling your home a wall mural can be a huge deficit-it's rare to find a buyer with the same tastes, and most will look at a wall mural and think "oh my lord-the primer and paint it will take to cover that".

an alternative is to have someone artistic draw something that can be "blown up" by kinkos or another copy center. while they won't do a trademarked picture they will do a hand drawn version. these can be cut out and applied to the wall with adhesive glue spray or wallpaper glue which is easliy delt with when redecorating.

we saw one home that had a stunning mural that went around 3 walls-the scene from the lion king, on the mountain with the baby held high over head. but unless you had a baby, and you realy liked the lion king, and you could find the bedding... (found out later the owners could'nt even bring themselves to paint over it after how much it cost to do-they had moved the child into a smaller bedroom when the child wanted something to their taste ).

Perhaps broadening your theme a bit to include "baby animals of the forest" with Bambi as one of them??? Perhaps you might be able to find more stuff with "generic" baby animals, use a little of that as well as the Bambi stuff you have.
