Hi! I am sure this question has been asked and discussed before and if so, I apologize. I was wondering if there is a place that one could find the number of studios, 1 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms, etc. in each of the DVC Villas. I know I read on this board at sometime, that some of the villas are larger( in reference to number of rooms available). I was just wondering if anyone had this info. Thanks so much.

We just found out Disney accepted our resale at OKW and we are now awaiting the closing. YEAH!
:D

OKW is the biggest both in room size and the availability of the villas.

Home Away From Home Resorts:
BoardWalk Villas Studio - 359
BoardWalk Villas One-Bedroom - 712
BoardWalk Villas Two-Bedroom - 1071
BoardWalk Villas Grand Villa - 2142
Old Key West Resort Deluxe Studio - 376
Old Key West One Bedroom - 1086
Old Key West Two Bedroom - 1392
Old Key West Grand Villa - 2265
Fort Wilderness Home or Cabin - 504
Wilderness Lodge Villas Studio - 356
Wilderness Lodge Villas One-Bedroom - 727
Wilderness Lodge Villas Two-Bedroom - 1080

I don't have the information for the BCV and SSR - I guess I need to get them. I think this came from AAA. not my dvc stuff.

Just to clarify, spiceycat's numbers are accommodation unit sizes, not number of units at each resort.

I know that for WDW resorts, the number of rooms ranks from highest to lowest as follows:

SSR (when complete)
OKW
BWV
BCV
VWL

I don't know the numbers of types of rooms in each though. But I'll bet someone here has that info.

Thanks everyone for all the great information. InstImres: Do you mean for example at OKW there are no rooms just called studios, but they use a part of a one bedroom or two bedroom for a studio. I am a bit confused here. How do they then decide how many studios they will allow at any given time? Do they base it on how many one or two bedrooms are taken for that time frame?
As you can see, I am really confused here. Any help in me understanding this better, would be appreciated. Thanks.

That is correct. OKW does not have any dedicated studios (though rumor says there is 1). There is some magic way to how they decide how many of each though no one has ever been able to explain it to me - not on the boards, not MS or my guide. A main reason for the "lockoffs" allows for more options in room assignments.

Hope that helps

Thanks Sandy. That does help. Hope your upcoming vacations are great.

InstImpres:

I think I'm a little confused. If 25% of the 2BR at BWV have standard view, and 13% of the 2BR there have boardwalk view, what view does the remaining 62% have? I thought there were only two views - standard and boardwalk?? I must be missing something.

BWV has two general view categories- Standard and Preferred (everything not categorized as Standard is Preferred) Each Category uses a specific number of points- regardless what can be seen from the balcony.

Included in the Preferred View category are those rooms that look out on the Boardwalk itself (some face the Boardwald and some face the courtyard and BWI). The Boardwalk View rooms may also be reserved as a guaranteed room type as of a recent change. These rooms require the same number of points as all other Preferred View rooms at BWV. Most other Preferred View rooms look out towards a pool or canal.

Enjoy!

do we have an updated list to include SSR, AKV, and maybe even BLT?

This is the way I understand it:

When a resort has both dedicated and lockoff 2 bedrooms, when reservations start they book the 2 bedroom reservations as dedicated and the lockoffs as separate 1 bedrooms and studios. If they run out of dedicated 2 bedrooms for a date, they start using the lockoffs as 2 bedrooms.

BWV has dedicated studios & 1 bedrooms, no dedicated 2 bedrooms. So when reservations start, they book the studios & 1 bedrooms as dedicated, all 2 bedrooms are lockoffs. When they run out of dedicated studios & 1 bedrooms, they start splitting the lockoffs.
