I have never seen more than 2 of my room requests on my confirmation paperwork, but when I have called member services they have had an additional request on the computer? I realize it is probably not productive to make too many specific requests but does anyone know how many requests DVC will honor? Do they put a practical limit on how many requests they will honor, but just don't advertise it? Thanks.

You're right. They don't always appear on the confirmation. Sometimes they add their own "messages" that take up the space the requests would use.

You can give as many requests as you like but it's best to put them in priority order. Also, the more requests you put in the more limited your choices become. If you ask for a building with a fairway view they have several to work with. If you ask for Room #4461 and it's not available, they don't know that what you really want is the fairway view.

They try to meet requests in the order you mentioned them also. So list them in order of importance. If you want a water view, top floor, near bus stop- make sure to prioritize those when you ask. If you mention the "near bus stop" first- that may be the only part of the request they meet, as they might NOT have a water view next to a bus stop, but could have several water views. If the view is most important- list it first.

They will usually try to meet at least one of your requests if at all possible. If you list buildings 11-14. 62-64 as a priority- they might also give you building 16 or 15- since they're in the vicinity of the others you noted.

Good Luck!

Thanks again for the information. When I made a room request for my daughter last June I requested a non-smoking building in the 20's and she received a room in the 60's which is relatively close and accomplished the same goals - (near a bus stop and the main pool.) I had also requested non-smoking but gave no priority to my requests so I have always wondered whether I handled it in the best manner. No one from member services has ever asked me to prioritize my requests so the help you have given me here is greatly appreciated.

When I stayed at OKW the past 2 years, I requested non-smoking, buildings 23 to 26, second floor. Last year we got building 26, second floor. This year we got building 28, second floor. I also sent a fax 5 days before our stays saying first floor would be OK if second was not available, but not third (too many steps) and not handicapped. I think sending a fax is good if you want to explain your requests and offer alternatives so they have a better idea what you are looking for.
