Hello folks:

We are leaving in 10 days for WDW, flying into Sanford and will need a rental car for 10 days. We are EA members, but have not found a good rate. We have not booked a rental yet (don't want to take from inventory)...we are holding out for a good rate. We've check mousesavers and used the codes provided there....I was hoping you might have some success stories to share. Our stay will include a weekend, and we are staying at BCV...so we thought we might set up two reservations (1: arrival p/u at SFB keep through the weekend, 2. End of weekend d/off at Dolphin, p/up at Dolphin for the the week, drop off at SFB on our departure)

Any contract codes (besides Walmart), and coupons would be greatly appreciated.

PS: we would like at least an economy.

:)

Unfortunately, the rates have really skyrocketed for rentals this summer. We leave Friday for 9 days and I am paying almost triple over what I normally pay. I have been lucky with great rates over the years but just like airfare rates, the honeymoon may be over. My niece did get a great rate for a midsize car a week before her trip last week - $157. But the last minute rates for July 4th holiday are much higher. National has a $35 off coupon on the website which may help a little. People have also reported great success with Priceline. Goodluck!

National has some good discounts through Costco.com if you're a Costco member. I don't remember all the details but I was looking there for our upcoming trip.

We're flying to/from Orlando beginning 7/3 for a non-Disney trip, and as of 3 days ago the rates went thru the roof! I have a ressie with Alamo and National already, but thought they were high and was hoping rates would drop, not increase. Last minute specials should be posted tomorrow, so there's still hope... right??

I don't have any great codes, but I would encourage you to book something with some rental agency, today. Prices sometimes go down as you get closer to dates, sometimes they don't.
You aren't hurting availability if you book ONE reservation. If you find a better rate, cancel that one and make the second. (This is how I always book.)

I don't know about Sanford, but at MCO for 9 days (July 17-26), I booked a mid-size (emerald aisle) for $283.43 using Contract ID 5000672 and Coupon ND1276FDT. I was going to try Priceline, but I like the Emerald Club perks for National - free extra driver (DH!) and upgrades, if there are any available.

Where is this code from? I would love to use it but don't want to have a problem. Thanks!

Any details on the who the code is for?

Nice rate, but ummmm....it includes insurance. That's usually a reliable indicator that it's a code only for a specific authorized group. Might be a
buyer beware situation. ;)

I'll keep looking for a boring 'ole code I'm certain I qualify for.
