NSS vs VMC advice?

Hi there, all! I'm looking for some guidance in terms of which event to attend. My repeat-Disney buddy is trying to persuade me to go along with her starting *on* Halloween next year & staying long enough that we can attend both parties (just the two of us, adults, no children). We have been to VMC & *loved* it! However, I have serious doubts about the NSS party. We would be getting in *on* Halloween for the event, in a park, on a holiday, on a Saturday (I would expect crazy crowds?), and I love my Halloween drenched in blood & monsters, so the "Not So Scary" part sounds really disappointing. Does anyone have any opinions on how the two events compare to one another, or crowd advice for being there on Halloween? Is the party worth me sacrificing my favorite parts of my favorite holiday? Or should I just persuade her to go the following week? I'm also concerned about only being around the Halloween decorations for a few hours, and then having a lull of zero decorations while they take down the one set and put up the other. It doesn't make sense to me to go so close to the holiday season just to miss the decorations by days. I'd really appreciate any help, thanks!

Most people seem to find the Halloween party more fun than the Christmas party, but it looks like you prefer a more scary Halloween party, so you may be happier somewhere else that evening.

A few of the Halloween parties sell out, so the Oct. 31 party will be equally as crowded as the others that sell out -- not more so.

They put up Christmas decorations as they take down Halloween decorations, so I don't think there would be any lull without decorations in between, although there may be a few days with elements of both.

What about a compromise? You head down on Oct. 31 and do Halloween Horror Nights (which sounds like would be more your speed) over at Universal on that first night for you, and then Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party later in the week for your friend? :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for your help, Daisy & Elevationist! I was considering Horror Nights as well :) I'm just thinking we spoiled ourselves 2 trips ago when it was really low crowds in early November.
