NPC Pins?

Are the NPC pins going to be rare? My friend and I were in a trade room and this guy asks to trade and says the NPC pins are going to be rare so he wanted my friend's polyneisan pin in exchange for 2 NPC pins. Are they going to be rare or is this guy cheating my friend out? I asked Host Phinny when I was playing basball but got booted! So please help.

They will never be rare, unless they discontinue them and make new ones. I collect CaptainBlackheart pins.

They will never, ever, be rare, even if they changed them, it would take 20 years for them to be considered rare. I, personally, have over 1000 of each

And that my friend illistated even more why they will never be rare - people don't really want them...we just have them, why because we do.

There are actually 3 rare NPC pins....

1) Phineas
2) Ezra
3)Gus

All not released, but they are in the database

I can appreciate that as a thought but that does not make them rare only unreleases. Like a 2008 Chevy not rare on the books yet none exist.

I don't think the pins are in the database. I have not seen them.

Do the t item numbers have 4#'s and start with a 2? If so, then yes, they are pins.
The one's I see start with a 4 which are general furniture or in-game "pieces". If you look in the database, there are 2 item numbers for the others such as:
item.2024=Malificent the Dragon (the pin)
item.4001=Maleficent the Dragon (the character her self)

So there are no pins for the 3 ghosts that I see.
But if you find them, let me know.

When in doubt, see if there's a Community Leader around in the same
room you're in. If you don't see one, trust your gut. Anyone claiming
the items they have are "rare", and they are really PUSHING you to trade,
close out a trade window.

If there's no leader around, try to ask around in a public room, but using
the OTHER guy's offer as the test. "If I offer a Ned and Yeti pin for
a Polynesian pin, is that a fair trade?"

This way, other people will be more than honest and tell you that you've
made a "horrible" offer. And that will tell YOU that the other person was
trying to cheat you.
